Catherine Bray Guardian For all its effective use of modern drone cinematography, this survival horror is very much a throwback to the video nasties of the 1980s. Rated: 2/5 Sep 23, 2024 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film The climactic revenge scene has the unfortunate effect of suggesting that there are more shocking and meaningful things out there than the loss of some of the women’s lives, whilst really not being very remarkable at all. Rated: 2/5 Oct 1, 2024 Full Review Romey Norton Film Focus Online Escape does well in exploring themes of empowerment, resilience, identity, survival and retribution, through a sisterly bond and the need to survive. Go in with the idea that it’s a cheesy thriller with some decent acting and you’ll enjoy this film. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 18, 2024 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed Escape is a thriller worth checking out even with predictable story points and characters. The performances and the camera work really sell the story here and make it a film that is easy to sit down and watch, keeping the attention throughout. Apr 2, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Ian K There's something to like in this film - it's a very low budget amateur effort, but they've managed a lot of bang for their not much buck. Cute girls, evil-looking villains (did we really need the eyepatch??), overegged backstories to give some "depth". They've found a patch of desert and mountain somewhere that gives a lot of mileage on the scenery. Saw it at a film awards day - and it was one of the better ones I saw that day. It deserves to make a profit, and the director and some of the cast (Sarah Marks, Sean Cronin especially) deserve to get more chances as they build their careers. Creds to the cinematographer - Travellian Skipaldi - both for having a brilliant name and for managing to squeeze some real juice out of a lot of scenes of people... running. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/11/25 Full Review Mia H This movie is so awful 😭 some of the filming looks like it was done on an iPhone 6. The acting is GOD AWFUL! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/25 Full Review Barry F Absolutely stupid plot. Poorly written. Hard to watch. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/28/24 Full Review Nico L Escape is a love letter to grindhouse cinema, blending suspense and violence with the signature grit of the genre. Sophie Rankin and Sarah Alexandra Marks deliver standout performances, showcasing their talents in a film that leans heavily on the "final girl" theory, giving fans of classic horror an anchor to hold onto. The desert setting is a compelling choice, amplifying the isolation and danger that surround the characters. However, the film’s budget constraints are visible, particularly in its production quality, reminding us that indie filmmaking often requires balancing creative ambition with financial limitations. Despite its flaws, Escape offers an engaging experience for fans of low-budget horror, capturing the essence of its genre. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/27/24 Full Review Read all reviews
