Eighteen-year-old Jay has had enough of life. Twenty-eight-year-old Liz can't get enough of it. And as Jay (Jordan Dulieu) stands on a cliff top contemplating putting an end to the meaningless fog of his existence, Liz (Freyja Benjamin) lands in town on the latest leg of her endless adventures backpacking the globe. After a sliding doors moment brings this unlikely pair together, they form a deep and immediate bond -- much to the chagrin of Jay's privileged but jaded socialite parents (Gigi Edgley & Martin Crewes). Unfortunately, Liz's laissez-faire lifestyle is brought to an abrupt halt by a life-threatening mystery illness, and as Jay becomes more and more entwined in her plight, all four are forced to come to terms with their world views in this harrowing, provocative, yet ultimately uplifting saga.

BritaB I have seen "Everything in Between" twice and got so much more out of the second viewing. Depressed Jay has a sliding doors moment with world traveller Liz . Their relationship progresses quickly due to a mystery illness. Jay's parents inspire most of the laughs and Liz brings us all to tears. The characters are well written and acted and Sydney looks great. It's a treat to see an independent Australian film at the cinema.
