Rated 5/5 Stars •  Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/04/23 Full Review Jack O Now for the most part they both stared in No Mercy which I have not seen but Final Analysis is the one I've seen. This is actually going to be like Vertigo which I didn't know but it gets old quickly. Richard Gere plays Issac Barr, a doctor psychiatrist who helps Heather's sister, Diana who is having nightmares in the past about frightening and horrific childhood memories about his father. Heather is married to Jimmy Evans who is a violent and wealthy Greek gangster and she's suffering from pathological intoxication. Now this is where I go from here. Final Analysis is an Alfred Hitchcockian unfocused neo-noir psychological thriller with unfocused performences, the courtroom scenes are kind of rushed and a dull story that rips off Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. I actually don't mind myself analysing a flower shaped like a penis. Aside from that, it's not much. It has it's moments but the film itself is dull but it was all right. Never get involved with your patient as a psychologist in any way shape or form Richard Gere, Kim Basinger, Uma Thurman, Eric Roberts, and Keith David For Dr. Issac Bar this may be his final analysis for sure His current patient is Diana Baylor but things switch over to her sister, Heather the more the discussions go Issac then begins a taboo relationship with Heather who's husband, Jimmy is part of a mafia gang Jimmy isn't a fan of people paying attention to his wife and it grows more weary after he's murdered Issac is then questioned about the ordeal with him by Detective Huggins and Issac is wondering if Heather should actually need psychological help or not The majority of this film is a drawn out law and order case trial Gere and Basinger don't get a lot of romantic screen time together The therapy sessions last a long while too The runtime is too long and the twists start to pile on top of each other repeatedly going into odd extremes A lot of the music for suspense comes out as goofy Not very good for an erotic thriller, could've done things better Rated 1.5/5 Stars •  Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member For most of its running time it's an average psychological thriller.
