It's still only for the gore-thirsty faithful, but Final Destination 5 represents a surprising return to form for the franchise.

Joshua Rothkopf Time Out Among this cast of unluckies, there is no future Jamie Lee Curtis. But you do take the film home with you -- to all your own toys -- and that's what decent horror is supposed to do. Rated: 3/5 Nov 7, 2019 Full Review Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online Final Destination 5 won't be known for any stellar performances, but first-time feature director Steven Qualye can rest assured he scared the daylights out his audiences. Rated: B+ Sep 8, 2017 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com I don't have a lot to say about Final Destination 5 save that, for the first time ever, I actually enjoyed sitting in a theatre watching one of these efforts from beginning to end. Rated: 2.5/4 Jan 27, 2012 Full Review Jason Adams My New Plaid Pants Bloody delicious catnip Jan 14, 2022 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Nicholas D'Agosto is probably strongest among the cast here. Rated: 2.0/4.0 Sep 7, 2020 Full Review Brent McKnight The Last Thing I See Wall-to-wall impalings, eyes popping out all over the place, and wooden post-teen actors dying in horrific, entertaining ways. Stephen C 1 hour and 32 minutes of horror!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated R for Some Language, Gruesome Accidents, and Strong Violence. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/15/25 Full Review David C La película resulta entretenida de principio a fin, y aunque mantiene un ritmo ligero, el final logra sorprender genuinamente, añadiendo un giro inesperado que le da un cierre impactante. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/15/25 Full Review Craig H The 2nd best film in the franchise with some brutal deaths and a great twist but not as good as the 3rd. Let's be honest outside the interesting and inventive kills these films dont offer much but those alone have us coming back for more. Looking forward to Bloodlines seeing what a FD movie looks like in 2025 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/13/25 Full Review Bruno S Um grande retorno da franquia, com visuais surpreendentes, e cenas criativas! O Nicholas D'Agosto, pra mim, até o momento, conseguiu ser o melhor protagonista da franquia. O plot twist no final também é surpreendente! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/13/25 Full Review Alexander T I love all of the final destination movies, and this one is the best. It has the best deaths, and probably the highest quality. It is very entertaining and enjoyable. The suspense will leave you at the edge of your seat. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/01/25 Full Review Ash P This was the other Final Destination film that I remember seeing it in theaters, and I will say it is better than the fourth film. However, it does feel the same as how I always thought about the previous Final Destination films. I just found them okay. I do love how this is more on the darker tone of things, and the use of the 3D is much better than how the fourth film had failed. The kills are gruesome and creative as they go. Even the simple premonitions in the form of objects interacted by the survivors work well. Yet as every Final Destination film goes, the writing is as you'd expect from the franchise. I like Nicholas D'Agosto as the lead, while everyone else becomes as they're written to be. One is a pervy dweeb, one going through depression until becoming cynical, one being comfort for her boyfriend, the others just being okay. You also have to give Courtney B. Vance credit for being involved and seeing Tony Todd present again before his passing over ten years later. That opening sequence on the bridge was awesome. A couple of kills were cool, and the best sequence I would have to give would have to be the eye laser part. I also have to give them props for setting up step-by-step in a casual way before someone's death could occur. Especially the gymnastics sequence. The one in the gymnasium takes the cake for the set-up department. As speaking of set-up, I was still blown away how the film itself had set up for a previous film like I was when I'd seen this in theaters. That was a good twist. Overall, it's not perfect and at the least better than the fourth film. I'm gonna give this film seven and a half eye laser scenes out of ten. 7/10.
