The reviews for this movie have obviously been hacked - don't know exactly how they do it, I suspect somehow they delete any bad critics reviews and if you look at the audience reviews they are all from new users - no audience reviewer has any history. So all fake audience reviews. Rotten Tomatoes really needs to crack down on this type of stuff

For all the rave reviews I must have to go back and examine what I missed. To me the pacing of the film was slow and a bit jerky at times. Repetitive scenes where they show up at the bar various times and repeat the same lines "Hey how about a free drink?", again sigh. And not leading to much pay off. It keeps taking us back to the opening scene of Sean fleeing the anonymous bullies running in to Jimmy's bat to the point I'm feeling like I'm being smacked with it. It must of been Indie budget as the Boston/Quincy sleazy underside is populated with about 2 or 4 characters appearing over and over. Cory and his mom with a over done accent needing smoke, geez. At least in The Town we had more reinforcements all around our protagonists. At times is just seems like Sean and Jimmy are kind of drifting around, pointlessly waiting for another job? With the "we're doing this to be better" is a clunky montage of mowing yards??? It was done so strangely the first time I had no idea it was supposed be them then. The Big Dream is landscaping? maybe less trite that opening a bar in Boston, yike. Still halfway through you can only know that one or both of them are going to end up dead, pretty obvious. Dangling the "I'm coming to Chicago" dream junk is like flashing subtitles saying "This guy is NEVER making it there folks!". fwiw everyone already knows the two friends from back in the day now doing crime will never work out so we don't need another lesson on that moral. Jimmy flashing back to the pedo he kills like it haunts him is so off, compared to young Jimmy ready bash some kids head in with a bat. Really? Plot gap alert, the idea that somehow a Pizza guy could be connected to their hit on those Soprano retread killer's, uh no. Who would report that? Why would the cops ever care? or why would any detective know that Tina was gone? Like why? Makes zero sense, just randomly made to raise tension. Again the ending was predictable from way back, someone dies and/or someone gets busted. Some of both, just a had fake for a minute with a dream sequence. Sorry it just did not flow for me.
