Adarsh T Joe Movie Review: A decent romance that could have cut deeper. Joe Movie Synopsis: The romance of a young man who is in love with his college mate ends in heartbreak. Can he find happiness again? Joe Movie Review: Finding romance after suffering heartbreak with your first love isn't a novel trope in our cinema. And Joe doesn't try to be groundbreaking. All that it attempts to do is narrate a romantic tale in a sensible and engaging manner, and that it manages to do, mostly. The film has elements of campus romance (Premam), coming-of-age dramas (Autograph, Hridayam) and post-marriage romance (Raja Rani). The Premam-meets-Raja Rani plot revolves around Joe (Rio Raj, solid, though his line delivery sometimes feels artificial), who falls in love with his classmate Sujithra (Malavika Manoj, okayish) in college. Even though the Malayali girl reciprocates, the romance is doomed. Eventually, Joe marries Shruti (Bhavya Trikha, adequate), a strong-willed woman, who isn't ready to accept him as her husband because of the ghosts from her own past. How do the couple rediscover happiness? Genre: Drama/Romance Budget: ₹ 3.5 Cr Box Office WW: ₹ 20 Cr Verdict: Hit. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/13/25 Full Review Read all reviews
