Stephen L Let’s Be Cops starts with a fun premise and strong comedic chemistry between Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr., but it never fully capitalizes on its potential. The film follows two aimless friends who impersonate police officers for fun, only to find themselves in over their heads with real criminals. At its best, the film delivers solid laughs, largely thanks to Johnson’s effortless charisma and Wayans Jr.’s nervous energy. Their banter keeps the momentum going, even when the plot leans into predictable buddy-cop tropes. However, the comedy loses steam as it transitions into more action-driven territory, and the film’s length starts to feel excessive. While Let’s Be Cops has its moments, it never quite rises above its premise. Enjoyable in parts, but ultimately forgettable. This is a good movie. It has comedy, drama, action among many other things, I RECOMMEND IT. It is very interesting, a good movie to spend with the family, although in some parts they are a bit risqué, more for adults, but the least.
