Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com There are some disappointing choices in the film's directing, but Castillo should make a lot of those easy to overlook. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 29, 2023 Full Review Teo Bugbee New York Times It’s hard to care about Mía’s efforts to survive when coincidence drives the plot, and the production looks and feels cheap. Sep 28, 2023 Full Review Paul Mount Starburst Nowhere is something of an ordeal, and whilst it’s not a film anyone is likely to say they enjoyed, it’s impossible not to admire the artistry with which it’s been made and the sometimes well-hidden spirit of survival it grimly celebrates. Rated: 4/5 Nov 3, 2023 Full Review Jennifer Green Common Sense Media This high-concept thriller sets itself up for a tough challenge but manages to maintain momentum and avoid many lulls through solid acting and just enough surprises. Rated: 3/5 Oct 11, 2023 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies Anchored by a gutsy lead performance from Anna Castillo, "Nowhere" takes its audience on a journey that can be as inspiring as it is ridiculous. Rated: 3/5 Oct 10, 2023 Full Review Enid Román Almansa Cinemanía (Spain) A nice thriller for Anna Castillo and another success for Netflix. Barney S "Nowhere" is an intense and emotional rollercoaster that had me hooked from start to finish. The film follows a woman and her family as they attempt to escape their oppressive country in search of asylum in Ireland—a journey that takes a harrowing turn when she becomes trapped in a shipping container lost at sea. This film is a nail-biting thriller, brilliantly written and exceptionally acted. A Gripping, Must-See Thriller – "Nowhere" Delivers on Every Level. "Nowhere" is an intense and emotional rollercoaster that had me hooked from start to finish. The film follows a very pregnant woman and her husband as they attempt to escape their oppressive country in search of asylum in Ireland—a journey that takes a harrowing turn when she alone becomes trapped in a shipping container lost at sea. This film is a nail-biting thriller, brilliantly written and exceptionally acted. The lead performance is raw and powerful, capturing the desperation, fear, and determination of a mother fighting for survival against impossible odds. What I appreciated most is how the story remains focused on the human experience, rather than getting bogged down in political commentary. The writer did an excellent job of telling a universally relatable story of survival, love, and resilience without turning it into a debate. Despite some of the mixed reviews out there, with which I wholeheartedly disagree—"Nowhere" is a must-watch. It's thought-provoking, emotionally gripping, and beautifully executed. Highly recommend for fans of survival dramas and psychological thrillers. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/16/25 Full Review Audience Member Nowhere is a tense and thrilling survival drama that follows a woman trapped in a shipping container, fighting for her life as she tries to escape. The film’s minimalist setting intensifies the feeling of claustrophobia and desperation, keeping the viewer on edge throughout. The central performance is strong, with the protagonist’s resourcefulness and emotional journey being the heart of the story. While the plot may feel familiar, its tight pacing and sense of urgency make it a gripping and suspenseful experience from start to finish. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/28/25 Full Review Kevin G Movie had me crying Dam what a emotional movie. Great movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/25 Full Review Russell H A little too emotional for me but well done. Turn off the English dubbing because it's awful. Just read the subtitles. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/25 Full Review Samir Z Normally I don’t write reviews, but I need to warn people not to start this movie. It’s by far one of the most terrible movies I ever watched… It just doesn’t makes sense. I shut it down after the birth of the baby. After 2 days I still hear the dramatic crying of the baby… and I am a father… Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/25 Full Review Audience Member Horribly written and completely unbelievable.
