John F Watched it at least a handful of times and it never bores me. McCarthy and Statham are a riot together, but Byrne is my favorite. Algunas se quedan en una sucesión de chistes sin chispa, y otras logran equilibrar el humor con secuencias bien trabajadas. Espías entra en la segunda categoría. No es solo una parodia del cine de espionaje, sino una película que sabe jugar con los códigos del género mientras deja todo el peso en el carisma de su protagonista. Melissa McCarthy brilla con su estilo de comedia física, sus diálogos rápidos y su capacidad para improvisar, convirtiendo cada escena en un espectáculo por sí solo. La historia no es especialmente original, pero funciona. Juega con los clichés del cine de espías y los retuerce con inteligencia, logrando momentos inesperados y situaciones absurdas que funcionan. La química entre McCarthy y el resto del reparto es clave, con Jason Statham en un rol sorprendentemente cómico y Rose Byrne como una villana tan refinada como hilarante.
