In this sequel to the seminal surfing movie, documentarian Bruce Brown again explores choice international surf destinations, this time visiting locations such as Alaska, Indonesia, Fiji, France and South Africa. Accompanying Brown are renowned pro surfers Robert "Wingnut" Weaver, an experienced longboarder, and Patrick O'Connell, who excels at shortboarding. In addition to these two styles of surfing, windsurfing and bodyboarding are also showcased.

Another wonderful film capturing the very spiritual pursuits of world travel, the perfect wave and surfing inside the pipeline of an endless summer where you are forever young. It offers outstanding, technically modern camera work, superb surfing and some surprisingly dangerous gags staged on land. Thanks to Bruce Brown's narration and direction it has the same breezy feel and pacing as the original Endless Summer. If you enjoyed going along for the joyful ride on the original you'll enjoy this 2nd film based on the same idea. 4 stars.

This is THE surf movie of my generation (I'm from 79). I have nothing but love for this perfect Bruce Brown movie. Gary Hoey's sound track is also perfection. The film is relaxing, soothing and a must watch for the whole family, wether you like surfing or not.

While not as good as it's first incarnation, the Endless Summer 2 is still a great documentary about two individuals chasing the dream of that perfect wave. Warning: It may make you want to quit your job and travel the world.
