Billy Halleck (Robert John Burke) is an obese lawyer who accidentally hits a Gypsy with his car after his wife distracts him. Given Halleck's influence in town and a general prejudice against Gypsies, he manages to brush the incident under the rug with some unethical legal help from his associates. However, the victim's father, Tadzu Lempke (Michael Constantine), places a curse on the heavyset man, and he starts to lose weight at an alarming rate, which is followed by other macabre events.

I wondered to myself how I missed this movie because I usually go for all of Stephen King‘s adaptations. But after watching it, I can see through some form of clairvoyance on my own. I have been protecting myself from what possibly is the worst adaptation of any horror writers novel or story let alone Kings. I couldn’t decide whether it was a satire or serious? The acting bordered on slapstick. The characters so exaggerated. It was like the characters were caricatures of what the writer intended. And then it ended so abruptly with a piece of strawberry pie. We don’t even get to see the last victim, eat it. It was a lousy film, and I seldom say that.

I absolutely disliked this movie and would give it a negative score if I could. From the main character’s acting to the overall storyline, it made my ass itch. If you value your time, do not watch this movie.

I thought this was a very good film, different from all the usual boring horror films. It has a cool story line that keeps you interested and happy to watch all the way through. A pretty good cast and even a cameo from the man himself, the fabulous Mr Stephen King. I gave it 4 stars and I've watched this movie 7 times.

Synopsis
