Ferdinand is a big strong bull. But unlike the other bulls, Ferdinand does not want to fight. Ferdinand is a peaceful creature who would like nothing more than to be in a field of sweet-smelling flowers. If anyone had any doubt on the power of animation, I would point to this as an example. Try to show a child something from 1938. Maybe a film like, "Bringing up Baby", a great film. A movie that went on to inspire a lot of classic comedies. I guarantee they will be more engaged and entertained by "Ferdinand the Bull" than by the other live action material. It is a testament to the timelessness of the medium that over 80 years later, the short still entertains.
