The Texas Rangers are being demobilized due to the arrival of the U.S. Cavalry, so good old Texas boys Gene (Gene Autry) and Frog (Smiley Burnette) join up. They know the area like the back of their hands and are aware that the local Native Americans are ready for war. The cavalry is charged with protecting a wagon train loaded with ammunition, and soon hostile forces are circling the wagons. Can Gene stave them off and get the girl, Dixie (Kay Hughes) ?
