Trying to put himself back together after serving prison time for robbery, Paul (Liev Schreiber) takes a job as a parks employee in a small Connecticut town. His co-worker, Murph (Ned Beatty), a generation older than Paul, is dealing with his own issues, chiefly the the impending death of his very ill son. After the men have a run-in with local snob Frederickson (Campbell Scott), Murph's age and experience starts to temper Paul's fiery nature, as the younger man begins to embrace his new life.

Audience Member This is a profound movie about two men, in very different stages of life, who are trying to work with their lives. They work through issues of fear, dealing with difference, violence, anger, aging, death loss, grieving ... and a lot more. There is a kind of magic in their day to day relating that resonates fully and deeply. One thing to be aware of, the movie is all about their relationship ... all the other characters and events provide context, and as such don't get much development. This did not matter at all to me, but might to others. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member One of my favorite unknown indie films with great performances, dialogue, characters, and overall incredibly moving. A prime example of a simple no budget film with great writing, acting, and beautiful scenery. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review
