Shaun E Tag is weird at best. The character 'Sur' says life is surreal, well Tag is certainly that, too. I watched this film because the entire subtitled movie was available for free on YouTube. The movie starts ordinarily enough and then goes into a gore fest with enough fake blood to fill a tanker. Sorry, horror fans, this is too ridiculous to count as horror. The character of Mitsuko (and her other iterations) is engaging enough to keep you watching the movie. There is a good degree of acting continuity between the multiple iterations of the main character and this helps a lot. Some of the background music is odd, but is used well in maintaining continuity. The movie continues as a gore fest for a while but then descends into ever increasing oddness. I won't give any plot spoilers here, but just to say that, if you do decide to watch then it is worth reaching the end to get some understanding of what the movie is about. This isn't a get your popcorn out movie night type of film. This is a discussion piece. And most of all, it is a movie that you will have a difficult time forgetting.
