In a remote cabin on the evening of a record-breaking blizzard, a young woman plots to poison her abusive husband in order to end their toxic relationship once and for all. When the poison fails to kill him, she not only has to quickly concoct a backup plan, but also contend with her husband's increasing suspicion that his intensifying illness isn't wholly accidental. And with the unexpected arrival of her brother, her carefully crafted scheme threatens to spiral ever further out of control. Now trapped together as the snow piles up, double-crosses and horrifying secrets threaten to ensnare each of them in their own spiderwebs of deception.

The intriguing moments are too few and fleeting. What Laced lacks is a singular focus — a point of contention for the character to vie for that naturally draws in the audience and builds suspense.

I thought it was decent for a low budget film. Some of the acting was a little weak, but the shocking ending really freaked me out. I can't recall being that surprised by something in a movie in a long time! Whatever it lacks is more than made up in that shower scene. Hitchcock would be proud!

What's missing in "Laced" is a clear focus—a central conflict or goal for the characters that would naturally engage the audience and create suspense. Instead, it features characters that lack direction and unnecessary shocking moments.

This is a fun film, one location 4 actors. The actor's motivations are distracting and painful to watch at times but the story keeps moving along and no idea how it will end. It's a fun watch and on the whole the team did a great job bringing it to life. The Dracula imagery at the end was self conscious but again, I'm glad I watched it all the way through.

Synopsis
