Small Time Crooks Reviews

This is an amiable and quite conventional comedy. The biggest problem is that it's not all that funny. The whole movie, with its rather antiquated notions of the lower classes, feels as if it were inspired by another era.

This is vintage Allen, his powers intact after a string of increasingly cranky, creaky films in the last few years.

Small Time Crooks, isn't anywhere near as hilarious as I hoped it would be.

The characters in Small Time Crooks are smarter, edgier and more original than the dreary crowd in so many new comedies.
