A mystery-of-the-week series following Charlie Cale, who has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying. She hits the road in her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can't help but solve. Guest stars are plentiful throughout, from Ellen Barkin and Adrien Brody to Luis Guzmán and Chloë Sevigny. An inverted detective series, also known as a "howcatchem" and popularized by "Columbo," the crime and perpetrator are shown at the beginning of each episode, and follows Charlie as she tries to solve the mystery.

First two episodes pretty good. Then the language got ridiculous. It’s like the writers don’t know how to write a line without using the f-word 10 times or something over the top crude. Got old fast. Very low class production.

First season was great! Really disappointed in the second season. Just doesn't keep my interest. Plots of each episode are pretty ridiculous. Charlie does not show up until about 1/2 through each episode. Just does not have the same panache as the first season.

PRODUCERS: Letting your writer(s) depict violence toward animals, no matter how tiny, is bad judgement and you will always be judged harshly by viewers for doing so. Innocent children and animals are always "off limits" --not funny at all and made me turn off "Sloppy Joseph" the second I realized where it was going. Depicting murder of adults is questionable in itself, but depicting murder of helpless animals and children is just worse. Don't rationalize it, accept it and stop it.
