Thomas Hampson

Thomas Hampson was an actor and musician who appeared both on and off-screen throughout his Hollywood career. He worked in series television while getting his start in acting, including a part on "Evening at Pops" (PBS, 1969-2002). He appeared in a number of television specials, including "Cosi Fan Tutte" (1986-87), "Pavarotti Plus!... Plus!!" (PBS, 1988-89) and "Opening Night -- Masur and the Philharmonic" (PBS, 1991-92). He also appeared in "Rossini Bicentennial Birthday Gala" (1991-92), "The Metropolitan Opera Silver Anniversary" (PBS, 1991-92) and "On the Town in Concert" (PBS, 1993-94). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "The Richard Tucker Opera Gala: American Voices" (1993-94), "An Evening With Kathleen Battle and Thomas Hampson" (PBS, 1994-95) and "Backstage/Lincoln Center (02/15/95)" (PBS, 1994-95). He also appeared in "Richard Tucker All Italian Opera Gala" (1994-95), "The Dangerous Liaisons" (PBS, 1994-95) and "James Levine 25th Anniversary Gala" (PBS, 1995-96). Hampson continued to exercise his talent in the nineties and the early 2000s, taking on a mix of projects like "The Neon Bible" (1996) starring Gena Rowlands, "Thomas Hampson: I Hear America Singing" (PBS, 1996-97) and "Christmas in Washington" (NBC, 1997-98). His credits also expanded to "The Art of Singing: Golden Voices, Silver Screen" (PBS, 1997-98), "Great Composers" (PBS, 1998-99) and "Copland's America" (PBS, 2000-01). Most recently, Hampson appeared in "Memorial Concert" (PBS, 2001-02).
