Ted Prigge

Tomatometer-approved critic
Biography:

Ted Prigge was born on March 27, 1979, and has been reviewing movies (off-and-on) for around four years now. Socially inept, he budgets his time around seeing movies, reading books, and going to film school at Temple University, with delusional hopes of one day becoming a filmmaker of sorts. Or at the very least a well-paid Hollywood hack writer. | All-Time Favorites: La Dolce Vita, Some Like It Hot, The Graduate, Brazil, Manhattan, Bringing Up Baby, McCabe & Mrs. Miller, Repulsion, Citizen Kane, Annie Hall, 8 1/2, The Third Man, The Cook the Thief his Wife and her Lover, The Empire Strikes Back, and Pierrot le fou

Afterwards, it was more of a grimace, but what are you gonna do?” – rec.arts.movies.reviews Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Mean Streets (1973) 92% 4/4 “A ferociously original film.” – rec.arts.movies.reviews Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Primary Colors (1998) 80% 4/4 “To be blunt, Primary Colors is one of the angriest and cynical films about running for political office ever made, but luckily it doesn't allow these two overpowering feelings to crush the film's power as entertainment.” – rec.arts.movies.reviews Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Fantasia (1940) 95% 4/4 “The artistry is better than usual Disney. I don't know why, but the visuals look even more beautiful than they usually do.” – rec.arts.movies.reviews Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Patton (1970) 92% 4/4 “As deeply entertaining and fascinating as it is introspective and brilliant.” – rec.arts.movies.reviews Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Permanent Midnight (1998) 59% 3/4 “” – rec.arts.movies.reviews Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Excalibur (1981) 72% 3/4 “The film is kind of simple in its plotting, but what's cool is the design.” – rec.arts.movies.reviews Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999) 84% 8/10 “A sad, funny, often hypnotic film.” – Deconstructing Edward Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Peter's Friends (1992) 65% 3.5/4 “” – rec.arts.movies.reviews Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Rosewood (1997) 87% 3.5/4 “The film is totally engrossing, from start to finish, which is a good thing for a two and a half hour long film. In a lesser more preachy film, I would have been looking at my non-existent watch every couple minutes, but the time flew.” – rec.arts.movies.reviews Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Star Trek Generations (1994) 47% 2/4 “It's so messed up, confused, and cheap that even the sight of Picard and Kirk fighting together can't save it.” – rec.arts.movies.reviews Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Delicatessen (1991) 90% 3.5/4 “An amazing film, filled with amazing style, a wonderful off-beat tone, and some bits of satire which work with the film instead of being apart from it.” – rec.arts.movies.reviews Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Bulworth (1998) 76% 3.5/4 “or its entire time, it's a hilarious, entertaining-as-hell romp that has an intriguing story to tell, and one helluva message to relay.” – rec.arts.movies.reviews Jan 1, 2000 Full Review
