A movie with such colorful characters that is beautifully written that portrays an unstable realistic family dynamic that once this film was done I wanted to watch it again.....only downside this film is a bot morbid and depressing.

With beautifully captioned moments in the film, there are just too many depressing scenes that weigh down the movie from even having close to a happy ending.

Good story and some good performances help elevate this beyond its meager budget and director's obvious newness to the craft. It doesn't always work and the story sometimes takes downright silly turns, but it's a fine enough portrait of a Boston family you feel is probably quite common in certain southern areas of the city, even today.
