Synopsis
Balkan immigrant Nina Novak (Anne Shirley) talks her way into a job as the singer in a New York City jazz band led by Nifty Sullivan (Ray Bolger) after front woman Opal (June Havoc) quits to spend more time with her mob-connected beau (Jack Durant). When the band loses their regular gig, Nina convinces Mr. Hoople (Fritz Feld), owner of a Balkan-themed nightclub, that she can get the king of their shared homeland to visit, and drafts cabbie Steve Sarto (Desi Arnaz) to pretend to be the monarch.
