Synopsis
In June of 1989, student protesters clashed with the Chinese government at Tiananmen Square. The confrontation became one of the milestones of the era -- and the resulting massacre one of its greatest tragedies. In this documentary, directors Richard Gordon and Carma Hinton explore the square's importance as a place for political dissent. They also chronicle the bloody and historic battle that ensued, using rare footage and interviews with those who were there.
