Lindsay O I'm embarrassed I paid to rent this. The couple, while well meaning, is the picture of privilege, NOT financial independence. They save money by living "rent free" with parents. The husband talks about growing up frugal while fishing on what is likely the land owned by his parents next to their giant, I'm talking HUGE, beautiful home. The wife complains about working at her remote job, while living rent free while getting FREE CHILD CARE from her in-laws and says it's stressful. Honestly the only good thing about this documentary is that it made me pause to check MY privilege. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/27/25 Full Review Audience Member What a inspirational movie! It changed the way me and my family use money for the better! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Mike P Amazing documentary that shows the benefits of frugal living! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/04/20 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely ridiculous Documentary that manages to discuss financial independence without Dislosing ONE number NOT ONE NUMBER on how people do it ie...what their expenses are, how they pay for healthcare, what they do. The couple profiled is ABSURD the wife works the HUSBAND mopes around pretending to be getting a job. They show a screenshot of a laptop that shows them having a whopping $12,000. Eveything about this documentary was a compleye farce I wanted my 2.99 Amazon rental fee back. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/12/19 Full Review Audience Member A story that may highlight a poignant memory of consumerism. The entire idea of designing a life that you want to live (and not trying to buy the things that everyone else expects you to have) is very freeing. This family goes through the emotional transformation the shows that anyone can achieve financial independence! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie does a great job at introducing the everyday person to the FIRE movement, in a compelling and authentic way. Scott and Taylor were really engaging and I wish the best for them. We need a sequel! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
