Audience Member quite difficult to understand without the knowledge of Japanese folklore. There are a few scenes of the town viewed from above which were nice, and i was getting interested in the filmimg rather than the story. I wasn't really bothered if there wasn't much horror, things seemed to be slowly progressing....then the second half (horror bits) were quite dull. The girl never appears like on the dvd cover.....( i remember her from 'Battle Royale'), and the film lost it's charm. I would have been happy enough watching if this had continued as a drama about a lost friend....but i was disappointed by the end. It seems like it could have been a decent drama with a few things changed. Although the general feel and atmosphere are still well done...it gives you an unsettling feeling, especially the first time you watch it (at least for me). Rated 2.5/5 Stars •  Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member This is just a lifeless ghost tale about a drowned girl whose mother attempts to bring her back to life, which naturally leaves her as a murderous revenant rather than the sweet school-girl that she'd loved. Possibly worth a look for fans of Chiaki Kuriyama (Gogo Yubari of Kill Bill fame), but she honestly doesn't have a ton of screen time, so you might just pass. For completists only.
