Synopsis
In the early 1960s, Lakhdar (Roschdy Zem) moves to France from Algeria to find work and a better life for his family, who must remain in their native country until he can afford to move them to Europe. Toiling day and night and holding two jobs, Lakhdar saves up enough to bring his wife, Nora (Fadila Belkebla), and the couple's kids to France. Unfortunately, their family can only afford to live in a shanty, and the violence of Parisian political unrest soon invades their lives.
