Verdigris (2023) “There’s a deep chemistry between the defensive generosity captured by Maya O’Shea and McAlinden’s heartbreakingly raw depiction of Marian.” – Film Ireland Magazine Apr 21, 2025 Full Review Warfare (2025) 93% “Its power lies in the pared-back nature of the storytelling. Each element, from the choreography of the action to the violence conveyed through production design, is handled with skill.” – Film Ireland Magazine Apr 21, 2025 Full Review The Penguin Lessons (2024) 80% “The stakes are unbelievably high, and whether textual, structural or performance related, this emotional journey isn’t fully realised. Nonetheless, this is still a wildly enjoyable film. ” – Film Ireland Magazine Apr 21, 2025 Full Review Megalopolis (2024) 45% “Megalopolis is a brave independent exploration of creativity that can be more easily enjoyed when accepted for what it is.” – Film Ireland Magazine Apr 17, 2025 Full Review Vermiglio (2024) 93% “With Vermiglio, Delpero has solidified her bold voice as a writer, a creator and filmmaker. She once again presents a story that’s thoughtful, beautifully executed and at its very core celebrates the sheer resilience of women and mothers.” – Film Ireland Magazine Feb 28, 2025 Full Review The Last Showgirl (2024) 83% “Director Gia Coppola does such a clever and succinct job of building this world, allowing for quite a vast scope, while limiting what we actually see on screen.” – Film Ireland Magazine Feb 28, 2025 Full Review Will & Harper (2024) 99% “This is a quiet, thoughtful and surprisingly moving piece of cinema. ” – Film Ireland Magazine Jan 28, 2025 Full Review We Live in Time (2024) 79% “On screen, illness and romance are well-worn territories, and on paper, there’s nothing out of the ordinary with this young couple. However... Crowley captures with We Live in Time is that intangible quiet and magical beauty of everyday existence.” – Film Ireland Magazine Jan 11, 2025 Full Review Nosferatu (2024) 84% “Nosferatu is certainly horrifying, but for all the wrong reasons. While the film succeeds as a visual spectacle, it’s clear that some demons should stay in the grave.” – Film Ireland Magazine Jan 11, 2025 Full Review Nickel Boys (2024) 91% “Bold, brave, compelling, Nickel Boys is a piece of art that brilliantly utilises form to question the very nature of perspective.” – Film Ireland Magazine Jan 11, 2025 Full Review Mufasa: The Lion King (2024) 56% “What proves much more interesting, and reminiscent of director Barry Jenkins’ earlier work, is the exploration of masculinity through the relationship between Mufasa and Taka. ” – Film Ireland Magazine Dec 24, 2024 Full Review The Outrun (2024) 82% “The Outrun is a haunting and beautiful piece of cinema worth catching on the big screen. ” – Film Ireland Magazine Sep 27, 2024 Full Review Knuckle (2011) 93% “Interesting, touching and at times downright hilarious, Knuckle is a compelling and fascinating film. A knockout if you will!” – Film Ireland Magazine Jun 11, 2024 Full Review Nocebo (2022) 74% “The simplicity of Nocebo, the sharp, tense pacing, works well, making this a satisfying social commentary and an enjoyable watch.” – Film Ireland Magazine May 30, 2024 Full Review Eat/Sleep/Cheer/Repeat (2024) “There are absolutely no mean girls in this squad. Eat/Sleep/Cheer/Repeat is a joyous celebration with twists, terms and back flips that will leave you cheering. ” – Film Ireland Magazine May 21, 2024 Full Review Tiger Stripes (2023) 97% “One for the cinefiles, Tiger Stripes has surely earned a place on any “must watch lists” going forward. Amanda Nell Eu delivers a bold and challenging first feature that has a lot to say. ” – Film Ireland Magazine May 21, 2024 Full Review IF (2024) 50% “In a time when big titles are fueled by existing IP, laden with big set pieces, and dopamine-inducing choppy editing, there’s a quiet thoughtfulness to this film that harks back to a different era in cinema altogether. ” – Film Ireland Magazine May 21, 2024 Full Review Champions (2023) 59% “For anyone looking for something subtle or nuanced, look elsewhere, it’s still a Farrelly film. However, Champions takes a small story, in a small world and leans into the heart.” – Film Ireland Magazine Apr 22, 2024 Full Review The Exorcist: Believer (2023) 22% “The film poses a number of questions in terms of faith, choice, and the impact of trauma, but doesn't delve into any of them. It hops from concept to concept, from character to character, and refers to the source material in a way that feels hokey...” – Film Ireland Magazine Apr 22, 2024 Full Review Dream Scenario (2023) 91% “While there’s a strong hint of classic Kaufman to the surrealism, there’s nothing cliche or predictable in Dream Scenario.” – Film Ireland Magazine Apr 22, 2024 Full Review Mothers' Instinct (2024) 52% “Mother's Instinct is a throwback to another era in cinema, a love letter to classic Hitchcock thrillers executed with style.” – Film Ireland Magazine Apr 18, 2024 Full Review The Origin of Evil (2022) 92% “The Origin of Evil is a flavoursome cocktail of Succession mixed with Saltburn garnished in a unique French sensibility.” – Film Ireland Magazine Apr 4, 2024 Full Review The Iron Claw (2023) 89% “A meditation on fame, resilience, family, and the flawed pursuit of the so called American Dream, The Iron Claw is a compelling if not overwhelming watch.” – Film Ireland Magazine Feb 16, 2024 Full Review Occupied City (2023) 72% “With World War II soon to be wiped from living memory, and as the right rises again in Europe, Occupied City is a difficult but important piece of observed art.” – Film Ireland Magazine Feb 9, 2024 Full Review Double Blind (2023) 100% “This feature is a natural and accomplished next step for everyone, and still holds up as an impressive piece of genre in its own right.” – Film Ireland Magazine Feb 9, 2024 Full Review
