Vertical Limit (2000) 49% 3/5 “Despite an avalanche worth of cliches, the over-the-top nitroglycerin-fueled action and a dramatic rescue attempt premise allow for a big, fun movie experience set on the gorgeous but dangerous snowy peaks of Pakistan.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Jan 16, 2024 Full Review The Iron Claw (2023) 89% 4.5/5 “Durkin’s melodramatic biopic balances emotion & fact in an impactful way. In-ring choreography feels authentic & respectful of pro wrestling while remaining entertaining, and both heartbreaking & enraging performances bring this tragic story to life.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Jan 8, 2024 Full Review Cliffhanger (1993) 68% 4/5 “Big alpine action with megastar Sylvester Stallone taking on dual thieving villains in a treacherous mountain setting makes this a defining 90s movie thriller, full of quotable one-liners and memorable set pieces and kills.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Jan 8, 2024 Full Review The Boy and the Heron (2023) 96% 3/5 “While ripe with stunning animation, a beautiful score, and pockets of creative and amusing fantasy elements, the story lacks cohesion and leaves you emotionally disconnected.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Dec 11, 2023 Full Review Suzume (2022) 96% 3/5 “Stunning visuals, a strong exploration of national grief around natural disasters, and some enjoyable coming-of-age and road movie beats make this a fun, fantasy trip, but it's not quite cohesive enough to be special. ” – Feelin' Film Podcast Dec 4, 2023 Full Review Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story (2023) 65% 4/5 “This sports biopic disguised as a video game adaptation incorporates many of the tropes we are familiar with, but still manages to succeed at pulling the right heart strings.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Nov 20, 2023 Full Review The Holdovers (2023) 97% 4.5/5 “This analog tale with a snappy script and grounded characters provides the warm hug that its audience needs, reminding us that a makeshift family can give a person what they need in the absence of a real one. ” – Feelin' Film Podcast Nov 13, 2023 Full Review Nyad (2023) 85% 3.5/5 “NYAD provides us with an energetic and crowd-pleasing biopic sports film that feels more honest than most, vaulting the story of the holistic individual over the incredible accomplishment. ” – Feelin' Film Podcast Nov 6, 2023 Full Review Killers of the Flower Moon (2023) 93% 4/5 “Scorsese keeps his audience engaged enough to educate more than entertain, and some things still feel incomplete, even with the 3 hour runtime.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Oct 30, 2023 Full Review The Burial (2023) 92% 2.5/5 “Maggie Betts takes a simple and straightforward case and makes a mountain out of a mole hill, amplifying racial undertones of the time period into a place of priority that distracts from what could have been a more compelling courtroom drama.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Oct 16, 2023 Full Review Flora and Son (2023) 93% 4.5/5 “John Carney has a way of making the ordinary extraordinary. This time he gives us authentic relationships, cautious optimism, and a great soundtrack to tell a story about messy motherhood and the power music has to bring people together.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Oct 10, 2023 Full Review The Creator (2023) 68% 2.5/5 “While certainly nice to look at with neat designs and great action, it doesn’t explore A.I. relationships with humanity in a meaningful way and ends up feeling like a high-budget television movie setting the stage for a series that will never be.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Oct 2, 2023 Full Review Invincible (2006) 71% 3/5 “Even through the sepia-toned sanitization of the Disney production, you can't help but like and root for Vince Papale. His story gives the economically struggling city of Philadelphia and their Eagles what they needed at the right time: Hope.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Sep 25, 2023 Full Review Past Lives (2023) 95% 4.5/5 “Celine Song’s directorial debut is a beautiful story of friendship & contemplation about the choices we make in life. It is powerfully relatable and the film shows us that it’s okay to be sad about the road not taken without having regrets.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Sep 4, 2023 Full Review The Eight Mountains (2022) 90% 4/5 “This film about a lifelong friendship gives its audience, particularly men, permission to be vulnerable with each other. Gripping cinematography and a perfectly matched score/soundtrack round out one of the most impactful international films of the year. ” – Feelin' Film Podcast Aug 28, 2023 Full Review Enter the Dragon (1973) 88% 3.5/5 “Bruce Lee is the star and that's why we watch. Bare bones plot. No apologies. All action. All fun.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Aug 21, 2023 Full Review Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023) 95% 4/5 “Rogen, Rowe, and team have successfully captured the teenage part of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in this reboot of the IP. Gritty animation, fun dialogue, and a few tweaks to some origin stories give us a fresh take on these heroes in the half-shell.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Aug 7, 2023 Full Review Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) 43% 4/5 “The first iteration of the Turtle brothers on the big screen balances grittiness and campy while managing to give us one the best origin stories of the IP.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Aug 1, 2023 Full Review Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (2023) 96% 3.5/5 “The first half of Ethan Hunt's sizable final adventure isn't without its narrative shortcomings, but it does immerse you fully in accepting the mission with new backstory, characters, and a state of the art villain, buoyed by amazing action spectacle. ” – Feelin' Film Podcast Jul 17, 2023 Full Review Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015) 94% 4/5 “The film takes the idea of what Mission Impossible is, turns it on its head, and provides a fantastic origin story for a multi-film villain in Solomon Lane and a stunning new equal for Ethan in the mysterious and alluring Ilsa Faust.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Jul 11, 2023 Full Review Mission: Impossible (1996) 65% 4/5 “This works as a really great conservative prototype for future installments, complete with fun tech gadgetry and big action set pieces.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Jul 3, 2023 Full Review Elemental (2023) 73% 3.5/5 “A predictable immigrant tale with a romantic comedy jab. A few too many themes that aren't explored in the deepest ways, but it has its moments and is something fans of Pixar movies can expect to like.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Jun 26, 2023 Full Review The Flash (2023) 63% 2.5/5 “It's not a total mess, but this mashup of ideas lacks tight and quality execution, resulting in a few highlights and a lot of missed opportunities that might have made this a story worth telling. ” – Feelin' Film Podcast Jun 20, 2023 Full Review Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023) 51% 4/5 “This is what a Transformers movie should be, with a tight narrative, clean action sequences and heart whether human or robotic.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Jun 12, 2023 Full Review Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) 95% 4.5/5 “An incredible feat of multiple animation styles mixed with a fascinating and emotional story which gets you completely invested and ready for a conclusion that can't come soon enough.” – Feelin' Film Podcast Jun 5, 2023 Full Review
