Deep Blue Reviews
This is another one of those movies I had to watch in school, and I got to say, for an educational movie, it's actually pretty good! The visuals and music are absolutely beautiful, and I was legitimately amazed with them, and while the movie dosen't have much of a focused plot, like my opinion of teenage mutant ninja turtles: out of the shadows, that's not a major problem as long as the film is still enjoyable to watch. And deep blue, is an enjoyable watch. It was a pleasant surprise and is something I'd say is worth watching at least once.
This seems to be a visually suped up David Attenborough documentary. I want these incredible moving images on my computer as a screen saver. You won't learn much. the narration is stripped down. In the Attenborough Doc this was based on they said the blue whale pop is down to 3% of 300,000. In this one they say down to 1% of 300,000. ..Hmmm.
This is one of the greatest documentaries I've ever had the favor to experience. Incredible in visuals. Holds the presentation of many peculliar underwater species and shows parts of the lives of various wild animals. This is one of those classic pieces you need to watch in surround on a widescreen.
not so much a documentary (really not enough information for that), but a collage of various scenes set in and along the oceans -- and while much of it is very beautiful, there are only a couple of scenes that I found extraordinary: the killer whales hunting the seals, the fish tornado, and the images in the very deep. The rest you have seen before, and the repetition of certain images (eg, dolphins) seem too much focused on what we humans like.
This documentary has the most breath taking underwater beauty footage. The killing scenes were a bit much for me and may be for a younger audience. There are not many of those but they are certainly memorable. I docked a star because there isn't much to the dialogue. They don't tell you much about the animals. They just let you watch them and some are downright fascinating.
it has alot of amazing footage but i need commentary! i like the 52mins "MAKING OF" segment much more.
A must see movie! Incredible trip around our 'blue" planet exploring all the wonders from the ocean shores to the deepest chasm spouting gasses from the inner core of the earth! See all forms of birds, fish, mammals that live in or near the oceans. See creatures that live where the sun never shines, but are actually very colorful! What a waste! Beautiful music by the Berlin Philharmonic accompanies Pierce Brosnan's narration.
stunning! amazing! best nature documentary ever! incredible camerashots and cinematography! shows the ocean in the most fascinating way.
This is one of those films you could have in the background all day every day. Gorgeous stuff.
This is what I call a perfect work of photography film... there is no way to see a better one dealing with that kind of subject. It is georgously photographed with lots of love for the small details underlined with beautiful music by no one else than George Fenton... Dolphnins, whales, ice-bears, sharks... you get to see extremely wonderful pictures of many types of life, but the whole highlight here is obviously the part about the real deep blue see: a place so dark and still unknown for men...impossible for us to survive. So, not to miss: The 11.000 deep Mariana Trench, the deepest place in the oceans. This whole part ist absolutely haunting and scary, yet beautiful and fascinating... It reminds us that while men continue to explore the universe, there is actually a much greater and less known world out there. Still, there are many species yet unknown that live in the deepest parts of the oceans, a world totally out of our imagination and full of shivering darkness. It is incredible to see how life is able to adapt to its surroundings and what wonderful and astonishing creatures live in the deepest oceans. The facts are kept to a minimum but this movie is not about information, it's totally about the pictures and the atmosphere they create. The images are absolutely breathtaking, showing nature in its most beautiful and brutal way.
