This is a relatively fast paced epic style watch, a bit like Ridley Scott's Gladiator. There are some pretty impressive sword fights and it features hand to hand combat. The main performances aren't bad and while the plot undoubtedly features some cliches, I found it to be quite watchable. It doesn't quite have the feel (perhaps down to a lower budget being spent on this compared to other, more well known epic type films, I'd imagine?) of other Hollywood films of this type but its by no means a shoddy watch and indeed I liked that Tristans background, his sad start in life was shown at the start, as it helped me to sympathise more with his character and hope for good to come. Overall, I'd say this is worth a watch if it comes on.

It was very simple and easy to watch. The actors were appealing and the story was an interesting version. I would recommend it for someone who just wants to relax and watch a movie about a time in the distant past.

A way more realistic version of King Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot. Gritty and authentic, while lacking the Fantasy tropes. No one does their Historical Legends better than the English..

Excellent film all around.

The action is amazing but considering the same man who made Robin Hood Prince of Thieves that is no surprise. A good story and simple plot this movie exceeded my expectations.

Feels rather safe and the PG-13 rating makes it clear that the movie's holding back during battles which aren't bad but don't stand out, when compared to the likes pf Troy and Braveheart. It's also quite disappointing coming off of the heels of The Counte of Monte Cristo. Fortunately, Tristan & Isolde is well-acted enough, has decent cinematography and is competently directed & produced making this demythified romantic drama forgettable but a cut above the rest when compared to other movies released during the dreaded month of January.

Even though the movie doesn't follow the folk tale, I enjoyed it more without the magic potions and such. Sophia Miles is brilliant and James Franco showed much more depth and emotion than I would have thought previously. Rufus Sewell as the wronged king, acted regally and with honor. I loved this movie. I was incredibly surprised at how good this movie is.

Beautiful love story, james franco is an absolute darling in the movie. Strong but also very loving. I enjoy the action scenes as well. Great movie.

I truly enjoy this movie- it is one my all-time favorite "I need to cry for catharsis" films. I'm only taking off 1/2 star because I'm pretty sure James Franco has the same facial expression throughout the entire movie, with the exception of exactly three scenes...

This is easily the best Arthurian film (exempting Boorman's classic Excalber), as well as a wonderful historical romance. It combines riveting fight scenes (the tournament action is very well done), suspenseful action, and a compelling love story. For those who know the medieval literary versions, Hollywood improves on the story (how rare is that!), making sense of elements in Malory's famous tale that were inscrutable and updating elements of the Beroul/Thomas love story to fit a modern audience's tastes. Mark emerges as a truly admirable chivalrous king (What only King Arthur achieves in the medieval originals), while minor figures within the court take up the villain's role, plotting destruction of Tristan and the exposure of Isolde. Sets are gorgeous and the cinematography hasn't lost any of its appeal in the years since this was first released.

Starts off strong, but gets more dull and boring as it goes on

First saw it on 온라인카지노추천. Really liked it. Tried to find a Blue-Ray copy but couldn't. Had to settle for a 4x3 DVD. I now have a 16x9 DVD but I am still looking for a Blue-Ray copy.

Not a bad movie. Mostly a love story but had some good action scenes. Good rental.

The beginning is slow and should've been dealt faster, but the story at heart is moving, and the leads give it what they can. It's a shame the action doesn't hold up all the time.

EPIC!! GREAT characters & story I love the characters, emotion, sets, story. It's a beautiful, heart-wrenching Love story, with enough blood, fighting, & guts to help keep the blood-thirsty interested long enough to learn about the finesse & GREATness of real Love.

Not so bad, this version of Trsitan & Isolde. And James Franco shows some pretty good acting!!
