The Other Man Reviews
Considering the experience of the actors - Liam, Antonio and Laura - this was a disappointment. The suspense wasn't much of one, the photos and the repeated scenes from the past were a nuisance, the moments of silence bored more than created stronger emotion for the characters.
A man finds out his wife of 25 years has been cheating on him and he goes into the other mans life and ultimately decides what will be this other mans fate... I made it sound better then the movie actually was.
A very tension-free and forgettable thriller that is inexplicably steered by an all-star cast that should have never wasted their time on such a ho-hum dollar bin film.
Funny how everyone's getting bent out of shape over this movie. What did it do to you? Certainly not the best film but certainly not the worst. But consider if you spent 25 years or more with a woman, and then after she dies you find out she's had an affair, what do you do? You're emotionally distraught and dead inside from the loss, and to add to the pain, there's the affair, so to occupy your time, and as a distraction, you visit the lover to see what it's all about, only to find out the guy is a complete loser. Well, that doesn't help, but you do get some closure. And on the bright side because he's so pathetic, he actually provides some comic relief for you and your daughter. Life is strange, to say the least.
It only got a half of star because I couldn't give it 0 stars. Horrible movie. I rate it, F-
In my opinion, this film received low ratings because it was missing explicit sex and blood and guts. This film had emotional depth and a good plot. Worth seeing.
The Other Man is a disappointing film. It is about the story of a husband who suspects his wife of adultery. Liam Neeson and Antonino Banderas give terrible performances. The screenplay is badly written. Richard Eyre did a horrible job directing this movie. I was not impressed with this motion picture.
This might have worked as some sort of studio theatre piece (perhaps director Richard Eyre's theatre background contributed to that sense), but it would require a tighter script and a leading actor capable of greater subtlety than Neeson seems able to deliver these days
Well I reyt liked this film. Both Neesen and Bandaras played good parts I thought. Bit of a twist to it too. Would watch again.
If there was a no star available it would be too good to rate this movie, now to let everyone know what I think about this movie... If your brain dead & have nothing else in the world to do, JUST GO TO SLEEP & rest up! DONT WATCH THIS MOVIE EVER!!!! Do garden work, or run a Fing mile JUST DONT WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!
After many years of marriage a man's wife dies. Shortly afterwards, a letter arrives for her from another man. Obsessed with finding out the truth, the husband writes back, impersonating his dead wife. Soon he discovers a love which he cannot understand.

Why would actors like Liam Neeson and Antonio Banderas want to waste their time and our own in such a meaningless way? Nobody will ever know...
