Orphan Reviews
Pretty crazy horror with good shocks.
Excelente película de terror con un giro que para nada te esperas, Además las actuaciones de Elizabeth Fuhrman y Vera Farmiga son muy buenas
Pretty good thriller/horror with good atmosphere. That plot twist was crazy, mostly in a good way.
Interesting concept, some noticeable flaws. Worth a watch.
It’s not a very good movie.
do I even need to explain ?
Jaume Collet-Serra's *Orphan* revisits familiar territory with a fresh twist on the classic "evil child" narrative seen in *The Bad Seed*, *The Good Son*, and *The Omen*. Despite the echoes of its predecessors, *Orphan* stands out with its unique surprises and unexpected originality, particularly regarding Esther's secret. While it may not surpass those iconic films, *Orphan* is a notable improvement over more recent attempts like *Joshua*—another film starring Vera Farmiga in a similar motherly role. Don't be misled by the trailer into thinking this is just another generic horror flick; *Orphan* offers much more depth and intrigue. Both my audience and I found it to be one of the more compelling horror films in recent times.
An orphan child with an unknown past is adopted by an American family. Disturbing horror tale.
Middle horror movie with an unbelievable performance from a girl that is way too young g to play such a dark character.
The orphan film was shot in 2009. The film-maker of this film is Jaume Collet-Serra. The film is an international co-production of the USA, Canada, Germany and France. The film was shot in Canada, the cities of Toronto, Montreal, Port Hope, Burlington. The cameraman is Jeff Carter. The genre of the film is thriller, drama, detective. The plot centers on a married couple who, after the death of their unborn child, adopt a nine—year-old girl from an orphanage, who begins to show signs of exciting and disturbing behavior, which alarms the mother of the family. The acting is very powerful. In lead role Isabelle Furman, who plays the girl Esther Coleman. Her game is interesting and incredible. The main characters are also the mother and father of the family, as well as their other children. The special effects are very good and harmonious. I really liked the movie. It's not boring and has an interesting script. A very unexpected ending and the storyline itself. I advise you to watch it
One of the most interesting twists in recent horror film history came in 2009's 'Orphan'. SYNOPSIS: 'A husband and wife who recently lost their baby adopt a 9-year-old girl who is not nearly as innocent as she appears.' 'Orphan' is very much a B list horror thriller but it's a good one and probably has the best twist since 'The Crying Game'. It's one of those films where you have to go to Google afterwards to ask some awkward questions. What's actually rare with 'Orphan' is that it's a thriller that's actually grounded in some sort of reality and the human emotion is real. Isabella Fuhrman is exceptional as the creepy kid and delivers a performance well beyond her years, and it's always fun to see Vera Farmiga in another horror franchise. It's not a bad film, but it's full of faults and certainly shouldn't be 123 minutes long. Distinctively average. 6/10
Strong start and a twist that I didnt see coming. Oh, and I feel sorry for the kids.
Pretty scary movie with a nice twist.
the husband is SO creepy-way tooooo much attention to the 'orphan' and horrible husband-wimpy, creepy and hard to watch and dumber than a rock-best line in the movie-i'm not your f'ing mommy
This film is OK. Vera Farmiga gives a great performance, and Isabelle Fuhrman is creepy and convincing as the crazy little girl Esther. The plot has a very interesting premise and it is pulled off well, but the overall film feels abit drawn out and not quite as scary as it could have been. The twist is done well and if you're paying attention you can see it unfolding. Overall, it's worth a watch but it may be a hit for some or a miss for others.
I thought it was a good movie. Kind of easy to predict what will happen.
Despite a couple good scares here and there and an eerily effective performance by young Fuhrman, this was a very unpleasant viewing experience for me. Much of your enjoyment or appreciation of the movie will be dependent on how believable you find the big twist that takes place somewhere around the 3/4 mark. However, my biggest problem with the film was the seemingly endless scenes of showing young children in danger. I won't go into detail as to avoid spoilers, but to call it excessive is an understatement. After awhile, I was just ready to turn off the 온라인카지노추천 and call it a day. As I mentioned above, Furhman has an ominous presence and is an ideal choice for the titular role. But even her performance becomes a bit repetitive as she is asked to rehash the same scenarios and emotions over and over again. And at over two hours, it becomes quite an ordeal to sit through this. Farmiga, who seems to be making her living lately in horror movies, and Sarsgaard are reliably good but, again, they aren't asked to do anything particularly special.
I love it, I really do. It's dumb but it's awesome. I must admit, I was very tense through the first half until it goes full crazy.
A movie with a solid plot. The acting is honestly good, especially from Isabella Fuhrman who was only 12 when doing this movie. For anyone watching this film for the very first time and heard nothing about it, the creepy twist in this movie will shock you on some level which makes the movie even better imo.
