Shuttle Reviews
Starts out promising but soon descends into typical horror fare. There is no point to the movie as it presents a steady diet of pain and cruel punishment on a dreary ride to a destination that will provide a most unsatisfactory ending. The film was adequately executed and actress Peyton List stands out as the resourceful resistor in a increasingly dreadful scenario. That said it can't save the movie from being a pointless and unrealistic excursion into already charted territory.
Highly recommended. For all women. Sad truth and a life change for any travelers. What I saw was eye opener.
Two friends take an airport shuttle home from a vacation flight and find themselves kidnapped by the driver along with 3 other passengers. Not a bad premise, but there seems to be about an hour of plot in this nearly 2 hour movie. It frequently just wastes time sitting in one place for a while until the plot kicks back in.
I liked this Horror Film. It takes you on an interesting ride and your not quite sure which direction that it's headed.
The movie sprinkles bits of tension, and has a pretty punch in the gut ending, but other than that is fairly forgettable. You have to give it up for the actors, as everyone is trying at least, yet their efforts will be for not. A movie about the films ultimate subject, human trafficking, could be really interesting, it just comes off as cheap exploitation. Man that's a lot of run on sentences.
Some nice twists and turns, none of which were a surprise to the viewer however. That being said, the film was pretty well made, with some fine performances. The film could have benifitted from a more engaging soundscape and a more believable story as well as a nicer color palate. I also felt that the film was way too long.
Is it a mark of a bad movie when it takes you 2/3 of the way in to realize that you have seen it before? Still, an entertaining, nihilist flick.
It's obvious predictability from the word go doesn't hinder the validity of this film, it may lack in individuality and creativeness but it does offer us a new look at this story. Sure they probably could have escaped, but I think that this film offers a more truthful view into the kidnapping and how easy it is to be lured into a strangers car, the fact that they didn't run free again offers truth, because we don't get the hollywood ending that we expect, we predict they will escape , well at least one. So watch for an easy ride to follow, but don't be afraid to welcome a hopeless end.
How critics could review this film as Hitchcock-like I'll never know, since Hitch would never have sunk so low as this totally dismal plot. Save yourself the trouble.
I'm old enough not to get scared by horror or thrillers but Shuttle still put a chill up my spine. Even four years after seeing this movie, I still get odd feelings when I think about it.
Good film, I think you can only watch it once though. All the way through you are left wondering what is going on and who will survive. The film has been made well and is well thought out. A definite watcher.
Why does this film need to offer catharsis? I think it was a great way to get people thinking about the sex slave trade, which is alive and well. Some young women who disappear, never to be seen or heard from again by their families end up in this situation.
Kummastuttaa elokuvissa yleensakin melkoinen verenvuoto ja sen jalkeinen hyvinvointi. Ei tassakaan paljoa siita piitattu. Ihan ok fibat tama jatti silti.
While there's not a lot of blood and gore for the low-brow slasher devotees, I admired the way the screws slowly tighten as the story unfolded, and the tension cranked up to relentless. Nothing cheap, fast or easy here. Especially loved how everything strange that happened during the course of the night ends up fitting together and explaining all the seemingly random events. This is a smart, compelling film that draws you in and doesn't let go. Best of all, the climax is original, brutal, gut wrenching and not at all expected. Worth a watch.
I really liked this movie...I mean, there were flaws in in (I kept saying I would act different if I was on that shuttle!) but it was still entertaining and I was creeped out and surprised at the end!
