Rated: C Feb 16, 2011 Full Review Grant Watson Fiction Machine Predators is not a bad film, but at the same time it is not a very good one. Its greatest crime is that it is entirely superficial. Rated: 6/10 Jan 13, 2025 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review As guilty a pleasure as they come, Predators proves to be an entertaining sci-fi actioner that’s capably directed and well-acted by an impressive ensemble. Josh A This feels like a proper sequel to Predator. After Dutch tells everyone about what happened, they're more interested in aliens, hence this film's events happening. And it's just a genuinely amazing action horror movie and my favourite in the franchise. Let's get into it. The actual film is great: it's tense and feels like a modern version of the 1987 film, showing a group of people having to survive in a forest on a foreign planet, with aliens there. There's also multiple Predators, increasing the threat level, and there's no rescue team as it's a foreign planet. It is a great direction to take it, but the best part of the film is Edwin. I actually feel betrayed by this man. He was so nice at the start and I felt bad for him as he had a family back home. Then he betrays everyone, wants to kill everyone and it's like... goddamn it. It's a betrayal, but Edwin post-reveal is amazing too. And the song in the credits is a nice way to remind you of the original. Overall, a fantastic movie and a great sequel to Predator. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/21/25 Full Review mean s A Rock-Solid film! Predators is a worthy sequel to Predator. It's a fun film with the right combination of action and suspense. My only problem with it is that it needs a sequel! Royce and Isabelle deserve to make it home, and we deserve to see it. Just leaving them there to their fate is unnerving. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/07/25 Full Review Paul S This movie's story didn't really make sense to me, and it strikes me more as a cash-in on a popular franchise by putting as many stars in the movie as they could. However, I did have fun watching it, and it was really entertaining at some points. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/04/25 Full Review Richard B Utter insult to original Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/05/25 Full Review Blu B If this was a stand alone Sci Fi survival flick than this wouldn't be half bad. But it's got to many simliarities to previous entries especially the first and doesn't really do anything better than say Requiem. The direction and cinematography isn't bad with some good camerawork, framing, practical special effects and you feel like effort really went into this one. The end fight is pretty cool but there is also lots of boring scenes too and pointles kills. The music also isn't bad either but it sounds simliar to other entries and at times it's generic and forgettable. Everything else is alright enough. The second half is better than the first but not by much. I will give this credit that for probably 65% of the time it keeps the whole large group together. But there is too many characters, they don't have any chemistry really, some of the acting is terrible, and the majority just blend in. Brody is decent and the best thing but the acting has no charm, is very campy, and wooden throughout. There just thrown in to this with no real rhyme or reason and the admit it outright pretty much. Than you have your kills along the way that are pointless and what is here is just a by the books standard Predator template movie. The dialouge ranges from terrible to forgettable also. If you've seen a Predator movie than you've seen this basically. It just has more Predators in it and a cool Predator vs Predator fight which was the highlight easily. Nothing is better here though and there's too many characters. Skip this.
