Angels in the Outfield Reviews
This movie is legendary. Enough said.
I absolutely love this movie. It always touches My Heart. I am a Man of Faith. Surprised reviews are so low. This movie makes me chuckle a lot too. Hope you watch it if you have Heart ❤️
Classic Disney nostalgia!
If you’re a major fan of baseball, and a huge believer in miracles, ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD is definitely a movie that will make you smile.
Love this movie as a kid and loved watching it with my kids as an adult. Sure it’s corny but it’s great
Nostalgia HITS!! I'm glad that this is on Disney +.
Does exactly what it was supposed to do for it's intended audience. My kids love the movie and I enjoyed watching it with them. The critics seem to miss what and who movies are made for many times. I never put much stock in their pompous reviews. It's a movie that you should watch for yourself before you listen to these people. It is so much better than the garbage that Disney produces these days. Their CEO needs to find something else to do because they've ruined Disney.
I think it would be interesting to see how kids rate kids’ movies, instead of adults. Despite its obvious flaws to my old eyes (why the devastating reveal at the end!?), it was a nice movie to sit through, and my baseball obsessed, 10-year-old absolutely loved it. He gives it 5 stars, but I’m taking one star away due to my criticisms.
Amazing movie! A beautiful story with a strong message, hope they make more movies like this! And of course a great cast!
Angels in the Outfield is a timeless film that garnered a dedicated fan base upon its release. The humor is spot-on, the plot is masterfully crafted, and Joseph Gordon Levitt shines as a young actor destined for stardom. I have a deep appreciation for this movie and find it to be exceptionally well-executed. While the quick adoption process by Danny Glover's character may seem unrealistic, it's important to remember that this is a work of fiction. Ultimately, the stellar cast and perfectly timed execution make Angels in the Outfield a must-watch classic that never fails to impress.
Besides this film being an amazing Baseball film, I absolutely love that Roger and Jp were cared for while in a foster home. I understand that in real life, it's not always like that. A friend of mine was in foster care and wasn't treated very well. No abuse just emotionally neglected. I love that movies show what foster homes could be. And it breaks my heart that they're not loved the way they should be. It's part of the reason I think my husband and I might adopt oneday. It's heartwarming and heartbreaking when you see a father abandoning his own child. Although some parents shouldn't be parents but for those who cantankerous want to, my heart goes out to them. Other than that, the music is great and Danny Glover, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and I even forgot that Tony Danza was in the film. Great Baseball film. ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️
Favorite film from my childhood, love the performances, Joseph Gordon levitt is great!
Led by a great cast this movie is a favorite of mine. I love the characters and performances. The story will melt your heart and bring you from tears to a smile. Tim Treakle
A fun 90s sports movie. Great for the family. The limited CGI actually holds up pretty good over the years. Lots of great actors and stars before they were stars. Disney needs to get back to this formula.
So many negative comments. It's a great little family movie. Sorry there is sad parts but that's real life. Great movie.
One of my favorite movies ever
I enjoyed watching Angels in the Outfield when I was a kid, so seeing it again as an adult brought back a lot of nostalgic feelings. And I was able to share it with my children, as well. I doubt that Disney would make such a faith-centered film today, but there's such a sense of positivity to this story. I was also surprised by all of the famous faces. Of course, I remembered Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Danny Glover, Christopher Lloyd, and Tony Danza, but I was shocked to see Matthew McConaughey and Adrien Brody in supporting roles. This movie is cheesy, yes, but watching it is such an uplifting experience.
There is a reason why this movie is nearly impossible to stream in 2023 - because it references God, and rewards for morality. It isn't a suprising the critics bashed it, for these reasons. It is cheesy, yes - no question. But the 90's were cheesy in general, so it is expected. I greatly enjoyed rewatching this show, and my kids absolutely loved it. A breath of fresh air from all the junk that is currently being released. Watch it. You won't be sorry.
The acting is ok overall along with a generic music score. The cinematography is well done with well framed shots but some of the special effects can be a bit out of place (Not really bad in themselves though). The editing is ok as this feels like a sports film and a religious movie tied together that doesn't really compliment each other. If you removed the spiritual element I feel this would be a much stronger and more cohesive narrative. This is a average paced film that never drags but never really builds tension or investment. It had some good moments in it though and nothing about it is truly broken. I'd say skip this unless your a real hardcore sports film fan or Danny Glover fan.
