John Travolta (Michael) did a great job making me laugh on that car trip🤣… But that all changed when the dog gotten run over by a truck and Michael was able to Bring it back to life❤️‍🩹. At the end everyone found peace.🥹

Wow! I really don't understand all the hate for this little "feel good movie". It's lightweight, enjoyable fare with (at the very least) some memorable dancing to classic songs. Like a cinematic version of a funnel cake or caramel apple or corn dog. Not EVERY movie is supposed to "nourish" you...some are just meant to be fun. One of my favorite guilty pleasures.

I watched this movie just after it first came out, then again ten years later, and then again. The fallen angel, Michael, is still charming and more memorable with the passage of time. My wife and i find ourselves remembering and joking about the bar room scenes and Michael's irresistible smell" years later. Still a great way to pass the time and feel good for having done so, even at the age of 75.

This movie may not be intellectually stimulating, but it is certainly feel-good. And, there are gentle wee lessons taught along the way. Good cast, and good music included. Definitely a good choice for a rainy Saturday afternoon....

This movie is always uplifting. And can't get over John Travolta dancing in the bar scene.

I enjoyed in 1996 and I enjoyed watching it dvd in 2022. I a nice clean movie that I'd nice and no killing.

Funny wacky angle, on a road trip with country-side comedy all the way. Never go against an angel's wish & enjoy the ride of your life.

It's raunchy fun from an unexpected quarter. Ephron took a complex premise and carried it through a humorous but meaningful plot. I'll watch it again.

I don't think this is a movie for everyone, but those who like this movie are going to love it. You can't walk away from this movie without appreciating life a bit more than before you saw the film. Plus, the dance scene is worth watching the movie for no other reason.

A great movie that delivers multiple laughs, smiles, and absolute admiration. One of my all time favorites. How can anyone NOT like this movie!! A classic!!

Classic. Not everyone can appreciate this movie but I am someone who does and it's a great movie.

It's a charming bit of whimsy, without ambition beyond the entertaining moment and the obvious moral. Travolta is effortlessly charismatic as Michael, an angel somewhat gone to seed on one last mission among us. Hurt's sardonic turn as the reporter working so far beneath himself he's in a perpetual state of disbelief plays nicely off the lead, while McDowell's less believable cynicism in search of hope and Pastorelli's bumbling sidekick (with dog) feel like the plot devices they're meant to be, but delight anyway. In sum, the casting here is spotless. Some will harp on off notes in the composition of the plot and questionable decisions in side bar, but they are so few and comparatively far between why bother? It's underrated both by critics and the latter day internet public, though it found a wide and appreciative audience in its day and remains a worthwhile effort by the late Nora Ephron. I recommend it.

i'm an atheist who loves this movie. my heart...each time i watch it...

Michael was a good film despite it's flaws. John Travolta was engaging but they tried too hard to make him unangelic. Andie McDowell was wonderful as usual but she and William Hurt had no chemistry. Hurt is a great actor but love stories are not his forte. Still the movie is entertaining with Travolta's antics and McDowell's magic.

Absolutely love this movie. It is a great family friendly film for the family to enjoy. Can not recommend it enough. Also it introduced me to the band ‘Creedence Clearwater Revival' with their song ‘Up Around The Bend' being in the film.

Movies like this no longer exist in a jaded and cynical world. A wonderful experience.
