Valentín Reviews
I have to give it 5 stars. Age old story ...but super orginal story. If you can't be touched by this story....I don't know what can
Charming, poignant, sweet look at a difficult family from the point of view of a precocious eight year old child. A touching story that stirs the heart.
A wonderful movie about a charming 8-year old boy and his family and friends. I enjoyed every minute of it. He's growing up in the 1960s in Argentina. In Spanish with English subtitles.
Charming, well acted and sweet (bordering on sappy). Valentin is a likeable coming of age tale, with realistic undertones.
Valentin is cute boy, who is crossed eye with nerdy glasses who wishes one day to be an astronaut but becomes aware of the disappointments he must live with those around him. The great thing is that he has such an optimistic spirit for his age, becoming aware at a young age on what most people take for granted. That is for him having a mother but also having functional house, his need to be nurtured by a female species. Its truly heart warming and another kids gem movie.
Um personagem muito cativante o suficiente pra desconsiderar um roteiro meio fraco. Vale a pena assistir.
-.- guauuuuu ese niño me robo el corazón. Si un dÃa tengo un hijo me gustarÃa que tenga el corazón e inteligencia de Valentin. Me encanto.
I expected to really love this movie...but I found it just passable as a decent film. The young boy was adorable, and this movie revolves around his thoughts, and ideas. The opening hour is mostly Valentin's own voice-over monologue, setting up his character, and his predicament, without much story progression. Things come together into something of a small story during the final twenty minutes, with a resolution that is bittersweet. The ending was cute, but feasible? ...maybe in those times, and in that country?
After reading so many 5 star reviews I expected to see a great film. Sadly, it was not to be. Not only was it boring but the dialogue and actions were too sophisticated to be coming from an 8 year old boy. This movie could have been 15 minutes long and you could have gotten the point, you didn't have to spend the whole 83 minutes watching a bunch of nothing. A big disappointment!
It is impossible to not fall in love with Valentin. I don't know if it is possible to be a kid with so much thinking like him... but he is adorable anyway.
'El sueño de Valentín' was a pleasant surprise. Enjoyable, funny, with authentic acting ,were some of the most certain things the movie offers . This unique story is about the decisions and the life adults make, ' judged ' and watched close by an 8 year old child. Definitely a must watch!
Young boy Valentin, estranged from his real parents, yearns for a real family. Its spanish movie. Ambiance is good, script is very good and enjoyable.
