Russ G Not the worst Poverty Row semi-Noir ever made, but it's no Double Indemnity, either. You'll recognize Ed Binns as the hard-boiled detective in pursuit of a serial killer, and the plot line displays LA gumshoes methodically wearing out shoe leather and forensics labs uncovering clues. Meg Randall and several other tomatoes are sprinkled throughout as bar floozies and police decoys, generally wearing push-up bras and lacquered bleached blond hairdos. It all comes with the genre's territory building up to a conclusion that's a bit overblown. It's an interesting period piece with a much simpler and less congested City of Angels as one of its starring attractions. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/04/25 Full Review Read all reviews
