Very bad ending 👎👎

Kate Hudson gives a swell performance and some decent jump scares make this a worthy watch. Tim Treakle

I adore this movie.....The beautiful cinematography and setting almost make you feel the sweaty, humid weather of the south. Also, one of the most satisfying twists.....great flick.

I'm really shocked to see how low this movie has been reviewed. The actors are brilliant & the thick New Orleans atmosphere from the music to the set itself are a winning combination. But the climax builds throughout the entire movie. I love how the house & its history are themselves characters. The conclusion is one that I've never seen in a movie, which itself earns the film points with me. I'm a sucker for a conclusion I didn't see coming because that is so rare. An altogether unique concept. I loved it.

100% underrated. Such a good watch if you’re in the right mood. The concept is pretty cool and it’s a good movie. Nothing crazy but definitely an entertaining watch with a few scares and a spooky atmosphere.

How is this movie considered to be rotten and the movie Get Out that is more recent which is a knock off of this movie is considered Fresh. These ratings don't really mean squat.

Not bad, but slow and boring. Not enough life in the characters and it just felt underwhelming. Could've done more with the local Haitians and hoodoo, however, this is based on a book I haven't read so grain of salt.

I agree with others that this film is underrated. I enjoyed the unique story line and found myself wanting to know what was going to happen next.

This movie is so underrated. It's a great thriller. The final twist is the second best final twist after The Sixth Sense.

Good idea but slow at parts but the biggest problem is the main character acts in a intelligent way but gets a bad end regardless that leaves you feeling robbed

One of my favourite horror movies of all time. Although the story seems to progress slowly at the beginning, the time is well spent introducing the main character and the viewer to hoodoo, showing the details of it, and the superstitions of those who believe in it. The backstory of the house is incredibly interesting, and the action scenes near the end keep you hooked, and the twists are very clever. Rewatching it, you can see where very subtle hints and details are that nod to what the main character finally discovers. If they ever made a sequel, I would definitely watch it.

i haven't seen this movie in YEARS so decided to rewatch it - & although i do love the cast, it quickly lost my attention; not sure if that's because things would start coming back to me or not, but it's a little slow. i eventually stopped watching it altogether.

One of my mid 2000's favorite horror. I did'nt expect Kate Hudson can be a horror 'final girl'.
