Trade Reviews
This movie talks about a horrific subject that not enough people are spreading awareness on and that topic is Human Trafficking. I personally liked it, especially how the brother was doing his best to protect the sister, and going to extreme lengths to bring her back. I liked how they showed that not so good parts in the film, and the flas backs it just did something to me. My only problem is, I feel like its unrealistic/ not really as possible. If you know, you know. But anyways give it a try i promise you would either shed a tear or bawl your eyes out.
Bad story that tries to entertain but is implausible, but the film has some surprises that make the story unimportant.
Great movie! If true, wow, you't think we're still living in the 17th century. I looked it up online, and up to 100,000 women a year are sold as sex slaves every year in the US. Amazing.
This was a very sad movie but this movie had great actors
This shows the perfect example of why it's never a good idea for women and children to be out in public or in big cities by themselves without protection and/or being fully aware of what's going on. Kevin (Kline) was amazing in this. I didn't think it would be that good.
Trade focuses too much on being exploitative rather than actually trying to bring any real message about sex trafficking to the picture.
I had a mixed reaction to the film. Overall, it was so so. I felt like the film was a bit uneven. I felt like I was watching 2 films, the 2nd film being the Kevin Kline part of the film. The film reminded me of movies like Bordertown, Imagining Argentina, and Taken. I thought Kevin Kline (who I like in other films) was miscast here. He seems out of place. Another actor in that role could have done a much better job with the role. The acting by Cesar Ramos, Alicja Bachleda, Paulina Gaitan was really good.
A little heavy handed in its story telling but tells a story worth telling. Would've liked to see more focus on the brother/sister characters rather than having an American man save the day.
Mind numbingly soberering. as a father of two young daughters this is my worst nightmare. The fact that the movie is based on what happens every day is a chilling reminder of how far we have yet to go as a society.
