Ghost Town Reviews
Funny as hell! If you've had a bad day, and you need a good laugh, this is the movie for you! I highly recommend that you see this movie.
O filme não tem o melhor dos roteiros, mas eu gostei muito da interação de alguns personagens com o protagonista. Faltou um pouco de coesão em muitos momentos, mas o filme é bem divertido.
I liked! It's a fun film. It's not enough to laugh your head off, but it's fun enough to brighten up your Sunday afternoon with your family.
I enjoyed this. I thought it had some really funny moments and was clever. Tea Leoni is a recent discovery for me and think she is great here.
So bad I didn't finish it. Poorly written, sloppy script. Characters are unlikable. Ugh. Hard pass.
Love his dry comedy in this. Not bad.
This film is average 🤏
i lowkey wanted the male leads to end up together they are so cute together. petition for Bertman and Frank to be shipped off to love town not ghost town.
Really funny movie. Ricky Gervais is great. Good solid story and proper directing. I had a good time watching it...twice.
In his first lead role, Ricky Gervais does a great job of keeping this nice, subdued film together. Gervais will always portray different incarnations of himself, but here he restrains himself more than usual and creates a compelling performance as Doctor Pincus, a lonely dentist with social anxiety. Following his near-death experience, Pincus develops the ability to see ghosts. The ghosts implore Pincus to take actions that will allow them to be freed and enter the afterlife. Pincus is hesitant to do this until he encounters Frank, the spirit of Gwen's deceased husband who resides in his apartment building.
The premise had promise, but the story was disjointed, the characters were lightweight. The chemistry between Gervais and Leoni was contrived, stunted, and utterly un-buyable.
Average rom com worth recommending for the scenes where Ricky Gervais and Kristen Wiig are onscreen together.
this is a great little comedy - i fricken love Kristen Wig's character. would definitely recommend if you're in the mood for something light-hearted.
A very entertaining movie
Ricky Gervais is extremely funny and the script is clever with a string supporting staff and a fun story.
This is one of my favorite comedy films that is great for repeat viewing. Ricky Gervais is perfect as the grumpy dentist that just wants to be left along, and Greg Kinnear serves as the perfect foil.
The best parts of this movie were the female co-star and Greg Kinnear. Then again, I've never been a fan of Ricky Gervais' style of roasting humor. If you can appreciate a massive prick constantly raining on everyone else's parade, then bump this rating up an additional star. Otherwise, watch it when nothing else decent is available, or if your S.O. makes you watch it.
It's not a bad movie, exactly, but it's not stand out great either. I enjoy the premise, and Ricky Gervais brings a unique perspective to this type of story, but ultimately there's just not a whole lot to this that makes it stand out. It's something I wouldn't mind watching again, but it's just a bit below par as comedies go. For Gervais, it's similar in quality to The Invention of Lying.
