Gore without scares and cardboard cut-out characters make this clash of the monsters a dull sit.

Jessica Winter Time Out The title alone betrays an entire Hollywood mindset of rehash, reheat, recombine. Re-please. Jun 24, 2006 Full Review Empire Magazine Sadly devoid of any real thrills. Rated: 2/5 Apr 1, 2006 Full Review Nick Schager Lessons of Darkness Unsurprisingly mediocre. Rated: C May 3, 2005 Full Review Alan French Sunshine State Cineplex While Paul W.S. Anderson arrived with blockbuster experience in his background, Alien vs. Predator quickly felt outside his comfort zone. The resulting flick has moments of joy, but feels like a lesser entry for both franchises. Rated: 3/10 Aug 16, 2024 Full Review Casey Chong Casey's Movie Mania It was mindless fun watching the two iconic monsters fighting against each other but the problem is, the movie spends considerable time focusing on the human characters. Josh A I'm not gonna pretend this is as good as the previous four films, because it isn't, but it's alright. Serviceable. It feels like a comic book movie, as it basically is, but a pre-MCU comic book movie like Daredevil or Batman & Robin. Let's begin. The story is simple: there's aliens in a weird temple in Antarctica, and the Predators visit. It connects the two franchises well enough and provides a fun premise for this movie, which explores it decently. Sure, it's boring at times and it feels weird watching Mr. Weyland's scenes after watching Prometheus, but it's good. It's basically just a big What If story. But my main issue with the film is the explanation for how the Xenomorphs were made: that the Predators bred them as the "perfect prey". It just makes the Xenomorphs feel weak and, for all its flaws, I prefer the explanation in Alien: Covenant. It's an interesting concept for the crossover nature of the film, and the imagery of the Predators as gods is great, but it's not a great concept. But aside from that, it's a good film. Overall, it had a lot of missed potential due to it being PG-13, but it was decent. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/21/25 Full Review Joe M Absolutely terrible writing. The boss babe who was an expert in everything, fighting with predator was just an utter joke. One scene where she’s so amazing saying she know where to go by a bearing lol no that not how that works and said the chamber should be above us. We know the glow stick you dropped the scene before is on the ground in front of you. Couldn’t finish this mess of a film. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/20/25 Full Review Dylan S I found this film hard to enjoy as much as other related films as the main characters are not very likeable and while the visual effects are good, there is just not enough to warrant a second watch Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/04/25 Full Review Doug B A fine monster film u will come to appreciate it. Great fun and action Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/02/25 Full Review Aaron E A thrilling showdown between two iconic creatures, this film delivers pure entertainment, even if it lacks artistic depth. Packed with suspense and solid thriller moments, it provides an intriguing twist on the xenomorph origins. While it may not be a cinematic masterpiece, it’s an enjoyable ride for fans of the Alien and Predator franchises—just don’t take it too seriously. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/01/25 Full Review xpig332 B Meh! The effects were good enough, but the movie didn’t grab me, just kinda dull! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/25 Full Review Read all reviews
