I was looking for a movie similar to Dazed and Confused, and American Graffiti kept coming up, so I decided to give it a watch. Sadly, the film has no substance beyond cool vibes and vintage aesthetics.

American classic with great actors and drag racing

An American original Classic that will never be matched. There were so many original innovative ideas in this movie they can't be counted. Don't ever miss the chance to see this movie at a special release in the theater. It ranks right up there with all of the best.

It's pretty good. The story is unique with how random it is but I enjoyed.

Can drag and some of the characters could have been utilized more, however, American Graffiti is still a vibe, that communicates a lot of relevant themes (amongst them adolescence and friendship) and manages to stay in its own lane throughout. Plus, George Lucas really handled this setting and story with great detail and charm.

American Graffiti is really a masterpiece of coming of age teen film.

Ask your boomer parents why this movie was influential and a mega financial success (140mil box office on a 700k budget). I didn't think much of it as a gen-xer having it watched it in the 90s. But as an older adult who's visited the central valley and knowing how little there's to do in such places you kind of understand the significance it had for the baby-boomer generation who lived through it. You also understand why they let george lucas undertake the monumental task of taking on a costly budget-sucking sci-fi movie

The original teens adventure over the course of one night. Released only 12 years after the night is supposed to take place, it's incredible how much history occurred and completely changed the world during those 12 years.

One of the most quintessential teen comedies ever made, George Lucas's American Graffiti deftly captures a zeitgeist and period in youth culture.

Smells like teen spirit. What a incredible movie American Graffiti was back in the day and it's still good with a few flaws nowadays. George Lucas is set to make a regular ordinary teenage movie. nothing more, nothing less and that's good.

I love this movie. It's sweet, memorable teenager antics set it a soundtrack of Fats Domino, The Beach Boys, Chuck Berry, The Platters, and more.

This was a surprisingly wholesome and fun movie. It's a fun look back from the seventies to the early sixties. It's like Dazed and Confused's older brother. Just one fun night following a fun group of teens around. It's also the movie that put George Lucas on the map and put him in the position to be able to make Star Wars, so that's kinda cool. It's a fun romp, go watch it.

The true inception, and never duplicated eulogy of 50's nostalgia, from a greaser turned filmmaker who 50 years ago ignited our consciousness.

Thankfully there is no where near as much empty headed nostalgia as I had suspected and the ending is quietly sad. A true marvel from Lucas.

A fun movie that's also a perfect representation of what life once was in America.

American Graffiti somehow manages to be both a time capsule of the life of teens in the 50's and 60's as well as an almost timeless depiction of the struggles and listlessness of young adults as they try and figure out what they should do with their lives. Lucas and the cast do an outstanding job creating characters you really care about and relate to. There is someone for everyone in this movie who reminds you what it was like to be fresh out of high school just trying to figure life out. Culturally, the impact of this movie is hard to put into words. Lucas an co. may not have realized just how important this movie would be for generations to come.
