Some films connect and this is one. Michael A. Goorjian puts together what appears to have been a passion project. It's a fascinating, funny and gut-wrenching feature that Goorjian appears to have put his all into. An Armenian film, it's also in Russian and English, but it is VERY visual. This flew by and was perfectly executed. This is the reason I watch film. Do yourself a favor and go in and know nothing. There's a lot to take away. It's a rare film that gets you to laugh, think, and cry. Final Score: 10/10

Witty, painful, beautiful and hopeful

A very genuine movie. Humanity rising from pain and suffering. I cannot imagine someone in prison to be filled with such humanity and joy instead of hate and grudge ! Indeed a MUST SEE MOVIE. very touching. It humbles the human. Great acting.

It was moving and heartwarming

This movie was brilliant. There is so much depth in the story telling, not just through the script, but through the details, and thru Goorjian's eyes. The score is phenomenal, deep and folky. I went into this moving with zero expectations and was surprised by how much this film touched my heart and soul.

This movie is a masterpiece, outstanding cinematography and exceptional acting makes you live it through with the main character and at the end you are left with something warm in your heart. Bravo 👏

Captivating story telling. You live the character's agony.

Slower start with comedic elements that don't always work but an overall very profound and tragic story that highlights the consistent resilience of the Armenian people and their ability to withstand immense suffering. I do wish the film had delved more into the historical context and had maintained a somber/serious tone the whole way through as that's when the thought-provoking themes stood out but it was still moving. We need more films about the various tragedies and betrayals Armenians have gone through; they deserve to be shown on media. The dinner sequence was the best of the whole film with excellent cinematography and transitions. I hope this gets an Oscar nomination for Best International Film.

I've never seen a movie from this perspective before. It's impossible not to fall in love with the characters.

Set in the backdrop of Soviet Armenia, this film is an uplifting reminder of the power of the human spirit, with incredible performances by the entire cast. You will laugh, you will cry and you will be reminded of the humanity that lives in all of us. A must see!

This movie is excellent in every way. It's funny without being a comedy - it's dramatic without being a tear jerker. It's well thought out film with great acting from its lead Michael Goorjian and all of the supporting smaller roles. This is the type of movie where you say to yourself wow I really stopped thinking about my now life was engrossed in what was on screen. If you are a filmmaker and you see this film you might get jealous that you you didn't write or direct this - it's that good. It's not an art film but it's art - you really enjoy watching this movie and I ended up buying the film just so I could unpack it a bit more. Many times a film gets critical praise and you end up watching it and are disappointed the is one film that deserves all of the buzz and then some.

Simply one if the best films anyone should watch! It captures your Heart and Soul!
