Annie Reviews
I'm an adult and I rewatched this movie because I remembered I adored this movie as a kid. I remember it was inspirational to me and that I related to this newer version of Annie, not the old one. Yes, I watched the old one too. This one's better for younger generations. I think I have a more valid opinion than the older people's reviews because I was the target audience when this came out. I don't understand why the *adults* at the time are giving this *children's* movie a bad review. It's wholesome and I especially loved when Annie sang "Opportunity". When I was a kid I kept singing opportunity around my house because I loved it so much! Seriously, this movie was a core memory for me and it has a sweet place in my heart. The sour old people's reviews gotta go. Sorry, but the classic Annie aged out and isn't relatable to today's kids at all. Get with the times or stay behind and irrelevant
Although at that time people didn't like this Annie, nowadays, you can see that everyone recognizes her and likes her a lot, and she was marked in the childhood of many, including mine, The story is a new journey for the character, and Wallis was amazing as Annie, and not to mention the songs, they surpassed the originals, they have more rhythm and feature new songs, best movie!!
Well we liked it. It was emotional, fun and funny. We loved the songs. Don't compare this movie to the original since this is its own modern day version which does not ruin the original.
This movie is absolutely amazing. As a kid this was my favorite movie ever, and watching it back I can see why. It’s such a cute and fun take on the older Annie! To this day I have some of the songs on my playlist lol! I really hope others enjoyed this as much as I did.
I absolutely love the movie Annie because it's so relatable and funny and it's about a child in foster care called Annie. I won,t spoil it for you but I must say, it is an amazing movie and you have to see it but I know some of you might not like it but thats okay everyone has their own opinions.
Keep it like original next time
all I got to say was Jamie Foxx u slayed like so much !!!!!!!!!
I loved this remake. I think it was wonderfully rewritten in a modern way that still held true to the original story.
It's a fun movie. Kids (who it's made for) will definitely enjoy it. It's fun I watched when it first came out and I still watch it today as a 32 year old.
It's an enjoyable movie, especially for a young child. Many reviews are harsh for this movie, especially with it being a "remake"; however, 90% of the children that have seen this movie haven't seen Annie (1982). Overall, it's an entertaining film with catchy songs and lovable characters
Absolutely LOVED this movie. Watched it with my grandkids. It's a modern take on the original. Great acting, great singing and really nice songs. Fun, energetic and likeable. The characters really clicked. Just a fantastic feel good movie. Yes! To finally having some brown people in musicals.
I watched it with my daughter last night and it was ok but we both were upset about the fact that it had a person drunk. Also miss Hannigan had such a bad voice. And the music was fine but the amount of new songs and senes was making it feel not like the og Annie.
A very good remake of the beloved musical. Great acting and singing
Despite many criticism from adults i would consider it my favourite kids film. One of its standout features is the updated soundtrack, featuring vibrant new songs by Sia and Greg Kurstin, alongside reimagined classics. This musical evolution injects fresh energy into the story, appealing to both new viewers and long-time fans. Plus, Jamie Foxx as Will Stacks is way more interesting than the original Daddy Warbucks. He’s not just a rich guy; he actually goes through some real growth, which makes the story feel deeper. Rose Byrne is great as Grace, too—she adds a fun dynamic to the whole thing. The vibrant shots of New York City really bring the story to life. The bright colors and lively streets make it feel like a character in itself, capturing both the struggles and joys of city life. The film does a fantastic job of showcasing the city’s energy, which totally enhances the whole experience.
The best part of this movie is song
This movie is the best movie I have ever watched. The actors are all deserving of Oscars and I cannot believe how bad these reviews are. Quvenzhané Wallis is one of the best actresses I have seen act in a musical and it is a great modern adaptation of the original movie. I am hurt by how low the ratings are on a movie where Jamie Foxx is an icon, and think this is a must see. Do not skip over this on family movie night!
I would recommend to watch Annie purely for the soundtrack, what a fantastic re-make!
Movie was great songs were even greater!!
Why is everyone bombing it with bad reviews, when it’s actually a good movie, it’s not bad, and it’s really good with its songs!! TikTok made it popular, and the chorus for Little Girls is the most ominous and good thing ever!! And the lyrics still are the same, but the I think I’m gonna like it here has a reason, Kids nowadays like more tech and usually “control” over the house or something, tech gets advanced in 2014 and in all of the movies, Most of the kids don’t get tech, but 2014 Annie made it so Annie gave phones to her “foster” sisters, It’s not good but not bad, it’s my Fav!! And Annie didn’t even know most of the food items in the Foster home, so it would be meaning that Annie prob liked it there. A likeable movie, and the cliche was still not good but not bad, Also I liked the touch of Twitter in it, also, the reason why they made Annie more friendly is because back in the day punching wasn’t bad, but parents saw the dangers so I like it, it’s worth a watch!
