It's a buddy movie that I just can't get into

Should have been called Bonnie and Clods. Bad acting bad plot. Care Blanchet slumming. Bruce Willis suave as never.

I remember a VHS copy of Bandits sitting on our movie shelf growing up. I was always so intrigued by it and wanted to pop it in the VCR (I don't know why) but never did. Now as an adult, this showed up on Max and I had to jump on the chance to give it a watch. Bandits is an interesting crime drama with some likeable characters, a little bit of anxiety and some unique relationships. I particularly liked Billy Bob Thornton's character and each of the different dynamics with Kate.. There aren't a lot of memorable moments in this film, but it was a simple, enjoyable watch. Best Character: Terry Collins Best Quote: "One, I had no choice, two, I may have suffered a slight concussion and three, she is mentally imbalanced to a spectacular degree." - Terry Best Scene: Each of the robberies. Note: Like a true baldy, Bruce Willis' hair was out of this world.

Doesn't hold up well. Inane dialog. 40 minutes too long. The stunt man character is horrible. Hung around to see the ending but was watching the clock through the body of the movie.

A potentially fun concept that's crippled by poor pacing. Levinson never really gets the tone right and I think the movie could stand to lose about 20 minutes.

Breezy and funny with a scene stealing performance by Troy Garity

This film is good old fashioned storytelling fun. All three leads are outstanding for their characters, bit to me Billy Bob Thornton steals the show. He pulls off the bright but incredibly quirky hypochondriac spectacularly. "Bandits" went right to the top of two of my lists: favorite films and guilty pleasures.

Escapist humor either serves that purpose or it doesn't. Most annoying is that Billy Bob Thornton is completely out of his element. He can probably do comedy but it's really not his forte. Because he is not amusing the movie fails as he has a rather large part in it., Bruce Willis appears to want to get this movie over with as soon as possible. Pick up a paycheck and wait for something better to come along. Cate Blanchett is surprisingly adept in her role. The movie is cited as a comedy, but she actually plays her role rather seriously and that in my opinion saves the movie. Because it was not overly amusing from the beginning. Perhaps she was aware of this and decided to move it in another direction. In either case, these are fairly early attempts for all three actors with Blanchett clearly coming out ahead of the other two. But if it's what you're looking for, namely, escapism, grab some popcorn, sit down with your favorite beverage, and fall asleep on the sofa before it's over. If you're an insomniac, your mission has been accomplished.

Maybe first part is better but fun all time.

A lot of humour and some action in this movie. Very good acting by Cate Blanchett (as usual) and Billy Bob Thornton. Even Bruce Willis is quite ok (surprisingly). I love the scen where Blanchett is making dinner for her husband. However the story is a bit strange.

this movie was surprisingly funny. and actually entertaining. at first I was bored of it. Ultimately though the only thing that kept me watching this movie was Cate- she is everything.

This movie is a really mess. It is one of worst movies i have ever watched.

Robbreries, getaways, funny disguises and a romantic triable but it's really about the conversation and repartee directed by Barry Levinson and delivered by the cast. Thornton is terrific as a guy that always thinks he is the smartest person in the room (and usually is) but who has issues with germs, antique furniture to the hair of former PM Benjamin Disraeli. Blanchett is magnificent especially dancing in the kitchen whipping up a gourmet meal. But this is a movie for grown-up not because of language or sexuality but because it's not something kids will appreciate.

This was a great viewing experience and not at all worthy of the criticism it received about its runtime as I felt it lasted exactly long enough. They could've introduced Cate's character earlier on or had her play a larger role in general as she was the best part of the movie but a close second was the comedy and they did an excellent job with that. Bruce's ponytail looked a bit goofy but it suited the character. The music was good but mostly in the song choices category. The plot was satisfying, especially if you don't stare too logically at the finale. Kudos!

Very good movie in comedy crime genre!

The first time I saw Bandits, I was amazed. Years later, it's still entertaining, but the magic has lessened a little. Bruce Willis and Cate Blanchett are obviously having a good time playing their roles, which is fun to watch. And Billy Bob Thornton is absolutely hilarious as twitchy Terry. However, the story runs a little long and the twists and turns aren't as thrilling when you know where the road is going. If you haven't seen it, you should. If you have seen it, it's worth revisiting every couple of years.

The film was so much fun I forgot how much I hate Cate Blanchett.

Bandits is an action-romance-comedy starring Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton and Cate Blanchett and it's about two prisoners escaping from prison and going on a spree of bank jobs, capturing a girl that has some sort of Stockholm syndrome and becoming icons of their era. This movie is alright. The chemistry between the main cast is enough to sell this. Some other aspects are kinda sloppy; like the pacing. The pacing is really weird and slow at times, and I feel it dragged out a little too much. Though I do think it was the right choice to start the movie with the ending, since it makes the plot twist at the end so much more enjoyable and it makes you stick around throughout the movie, even though it drags a lot during the second act. Overall, I'd say Bandits isa flawed movie, but it's a flawed movie I enjoyed and got some laughs out of.

Great cast, story was very straight to the point. Excellent blend of the media and music that suggests the journey of a career in robberies. I was impressed with Billy Bob Thornton in the movie, where there was major contrast in his acting compared to Academy-award winning film Monster's Ball. Time was a little too long, but nonetheless finely executed.

People getting all bent out of shape because of some unbelievable aspect of the story. Please, it's Hollywood. It's about entertainment not plausibility of plot. It was a fun romp of a bank robbing film, well acted with three of Hollywoods best actors. Nothing ground breaking or memorable, but a good time was had by all. Good movie.
