BARREN LAND is the story of three friends. Mateo "el Gallego", a heroic--in spite of himself--civil guard, Juan Tarasco, a fisherman turned drug dealer due to bad luck and unemployment, and Benito "el Yeye", a resigned and intelligent lawyer always halfway between law and crime. Three friends separated by a place, Cadiz. All three trapped between the abandonment of the institutions, the violent and unstoppable rise of the narco in the province and the dangerous increase of social discontent. Three friends trapped in a powder keg that will test their friendship.
