Benji: Off the Leash! Reviews
Man, I haven't seen this movie since it came out in theaters back in 2004, and I hardly remembered much from it, but when I looked back on it, It's not too bad.
a moronic storyline full of moronic actors, with moronic dialogue and a whole heap of moronic plot happenings. it's hard to see why anyone bothered, pretty much everything about this film was low-key and droll. it's impressive what they managed to train the dogs to do, but it can't really distract the audience of what a boring film it is. the best thing about it is the nice, jazzy tune that plays along with the end credits.
Cute and funny just like good family movies should be. Reminds of all the Benji movies I watched and enjoyed when I was a kid.
A bit of ian inept attempt to make another Benji movie. WHY EVEN CALL IT A BENJI MOVIE WHEN THE DARN MUTT DOESNT EVEN LOOK LIKE BENJI? No, just call it something else and call it a day alright? The plot of this, is lousy, oh wait, let's throw a family abuse sub-plot, yeah, that'll pull the heartstrings! Stick with the originals, for the love of Benji. Ha ha, see what I did there?
"A breath of fresh air." Dave Kehr - New York Times "Surefire family entertainment! I'm giving this film my HOT vote!" Leonard Maltin- Hot Ticket "A good one! And it sends a valuable message." Roger Ebert - Chicago Sun Times "One of the best family movies of the decade!" Christopher Largen - Amazon.com Benji Off the Leash has won the Genesis Award for the Best Family Film of 2004 and has been named a Readers Digest Family Favorite.
Typical Benji family film, overly sentimental with acting below par. Of course the animals are adorable and do cute things. Light entertainment, not very memorable.
Well, after such a huge gap between the last Benji movie and Benji Off The Leash, I did not have any expectations of this movie. It was okay, but it really pulled away from the spirit of Benji that made Benji great in the old days.
kids wll like it; they,ll like the animals. parents will enjoy the message that it teaches. Fun family fare
