Blitz Reviews
Good depiction of the horror of the Blitz but a slow moving, boring plot that didnt make me care about the characters.
Brilliant performances
Great performance and compelling story.
A young boy’s odyssey towards reality shot with the backdrop of London struggling through the blitz.
Saoirse Ronan delivered a very good performance although the film left me wanting more.
touching story, beautiful score and casting, visually stunning...love this movie.
It could have been a very powerful movie - IT WAS NOT! I would give it a pass
Steve McQueen's direction and the lead actors are excellent. Following George through his journey back home gives the viewer the opportunity to witness both the best and worst of humanity in war. That the story is domestic is a sobering reminder that war's physical, emotional and spiritual damage escapes no one.
The historical backdrop was great. I have never read a book or viewed any film that gave such a detailed background of the impact of the Blitz on the "regular" people living in the bombed cities. The twist at the end, when George saves his neighbors, was a nice cap to the story.
It was well acted and the filming was incredible. A sad story but important to remember.
Terrific period drama that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
Very gripping movie about a terrible piece of British WW2 history that actually occurred in London. Historical byt with very personal stories.
Phenomenal Movie. I’ve always been fond of Saoirse Ronan’s talent.
Realistic production details and special effects make you feel like you are in the middle of the WWII German bombing "Blitz" on London. Captivating film!
Really heartwarming and exciting movie!
Too improbable and choppy.
Family friendly and heart warming!
Pretty realistic depiction of the daily life of Londoners during the incredibly terrifying time of WWII. Rather depressing, due to the subject matter.
Excellent cinematography...loved seeing the plight of England in WWII. Very good plot and acting.
Best movie Ive seen in years.
