Blue Story Reviews
Probably the worst movie I’m remembering to ever watch.
I really like this film. It is one of my personal favourites. The movie has al the elements a crime/drama-styled film should have. It has a really shocking end and overall is an interesting movie. It is not boring or childish at all because there is a lot of guns and is at times a little gruesome. I really recommend watching this movie is you are fan of crime/drama films
Peng ting fam. Lots of the Top Boy gang over here. Solid London Street gang movie with some nice grime tunes.
This is one of the best true to life ilms I've seen in s long time i felt all the emotions in one film like it really does make u think seriously bout life it was remarkable
Great film shows the consequences of ganglife but also very sad. Not sure about the rapping that pops up every now and then but still thought it was brilliant. I'd give it a good 8 out of 10.
Surprisingly derivative and shallow.
A little too conventional and going all through the clichés of the movies about gangs with nothing really over enjoyable. It is sad because you can feel the intentions are good and there are a few good interpretations and some ideas to take things out of the box, even if not totally working. Like the rap singing narrator that is just overstating what we just saw. A good idea lost on the pavement of raw streets like many other aspects of the film.
A decent movie, where the action beats work and the tense parts hold your attention. The story is quite cliché but understandable for the message it was trying to portray. Good dialogue but no real standout moments. Believable performances, especially from Khali Best as Killy. It struggles in the second half, feels like it runs out of story and the early momentum is lost. The musical interludes are interesting, not as annoying as I first thought they were going to be but could have been left out. All in all a decent UK movie and it doesn't get boring like some of the ‘British gangster' movies.
'Blue Story' is a condemnation of violence in a wonderful film by Rapman who wrote and directed a saga where two best friends enter a word they can't escape. While the theme is familiar, this British flick feels authentic until the filmmaker explains everything that just happened. I rather liked the music and the rap, but it won't be for everyone. The film is brilliantly brought together by a third act that should resonate. I gave this a shot and if you enjoy a thoughtful piece of cinema in an in your face style this is for you! Final Score: 8/10
Authentic, engrossing and immersive this young gangs rivalry story is definitely one of the best surprises of 2020. It's Shakespeare-like tragic conflicts work so timely and involving, along with great, revelatory performances.
Really well thought out film. It shines a light on postcode wars and how revenge is always going to take over. I think rapman has made an very amazing film. And hope it teaches young people there are other options. If it saves one persons life then it's definitely doing good
This movie was very well made. With great performances by all the lead characters. A story that needs to be told. Excellent.
This honest look at the ongoing & violent gang crime in London revolving around two school friends who live in rival boroughs. When one gets attacked the two end up on rival sides & revenge on there minds.
This is the best gang related movie since Boyz n the Hood. Sure the content has somehow managed to perpetuate the violence it attempts to expose as senseless, but as long as you watch it from home instead of the movie theatre you won't get caught in the crossfire and actually become part of the blue story. I highly recommend it and not sure what IMDB is thinking with its rating.
I like the style of the semi-musical form of this film when characters break out into hip-hop when describing the narrative of the conflicts between certain characters as well as some of the romances that blossom. That sometimes plays against the quality of the film when the musical portions skim over key plot points that should be given more time to be fleshed out as I loved the acting and the dynamics of the friends turned rivals within the greater framework of the gangs that our protagonists are affiliated within the story.
